Portal
My thoughts and Reflections cut like a knife
These stories allow you to see into my life
Some of these poems are about me and some of them are
not Some friends are new some friends I’ve lost
A gateway into my imagination, this book opens a door
I have found it good for therapy it lifts my spirits from the floor
We all have our moments and our main events
We either waste our time on Earth or it’s wisely spent.
Two paths in life we could have taken
I have chosen an unbeaten path totally unforsaken.
In this book, I tell stories of love and anger
And unforeseen things becoming even stranger.
In each of us, a portal from within is bound together by a gate
We open our gate and dance with our own fate
The scariest thought passing that gate is what lies behind
In darkness we are totally blind but we look in the portal only to find
Our lives as mere mortals were here today and gone tomorrow
We leave behind happiness, joy, and sorrow
We find we cannot stick around forever
Death is just so wise uncanny and clever
As you walk your path to where you are going
Reap all the benefits for thou shall be sewing
See you on the other side, my friends.
Decay
I live in the mountains and not the city
Because it’s Autumn’s first bloom and everything is pretty
Everything is so peaceful, relaxed and mellow
As I watch the leaves on the tree turn golden yellow
Autumn comes with its own fresh smell
Beauty abound all around we wish to know all so well.
While people are at ease and animals at play
The sunsets colors are a painter’s pallet done Nature’s way
Showing us her true and beautiful form
Butterflies socializing, happy they transformed
Birds flying from branch to branch chirping and gossiping
This is Nature’s decay yet it’s blossoming.
Look around, take in what nature’s presence is showing
Forget about life and where you’re going
I know you’ve heard before about the leaves
And sure, you’ve certainly seen your fair share of trees
But just stop for a moment and let it all sink in
For if you make it so, this is the best time to be in.
Disco Lights
I was cruising in my car going way too fast
Me, an unpredictable forecast
Seemingly, I was in a daydream
The flashing silver brightly gleamed
Going through this windshield and shattering glass the only sound
Now, I am crumpled together on the ground
Red and blue colors flashing
Disco light colors meant for dancing
A penlight shining from eye to eye
My echoing thought, why… why… why…
In the end, like a stop-motion picture, life flashes before you
Is this the minute that
