The Flight of a Caged Bird - B.D Mackay
SITTING BY THE WATERFALLS
Mind wandering around like the waterfalls.
Ears deafened by the total silence.
Crying for the birds, praying for their calls.
Standing here, I lose patience.
Those skies of blue now sadly turned grey.
My eyes yearn for the brightness of the sun.
I find myself standing in this place where I cannot stay.
Oh, if those mistakes could suddenly come undone!
Tears running on my face like a wild forest.
My heart broken, I cry for the lost feelings, for my fear.
Fallen in the rivers of regret, I try my very best
Not to drown in the waters of sadness so clear.
It takes so little to reach the bottom
Yet so long to kick myself back up.
Held by my selfish past’s phantom,
I wish to wake my happy heart up.
The water is cold; my mind is on fire.
My heart is dead; it is for sale.
It is the strong at heart that I admire
While I sit and watch the love that I have grow pale.
So, I sit, watching the waterfalls of my day,
Hoping to keep my head above water,
Admiring the river of disappointment going on its way …
Hoping the currents do not bring it back later.
OF ROUGH DESIRES
Loving completion of the process of affection
Or plain rough ending of attraction,
There is always going to be the way of the heart,
Depending on the levels of desire.
Whether you are a commoner or an English rose,
The riff-raff of the lot or the gentleman,
It’s bound to get dirty at some point.
Fabulous how what the eyes see and the mind likes
Is received by the heart and the body.
The delicious reaction to the touch,
The breathing patterns, the softness:
It’s the sweet illusion of needing
The electricity, the warmth
In the cheekiness, leading to actions
One would never expect to do.
All of it comes from within,
Delivering the element of ecstasy,
The elixir of desires untold
To be unfolded within the arms of lovers.
Lips on lips, soft start to the rocking human fantasies,
Wet and warm, liberally corrupting the dry flames,
Shattering the innocent glass panes of our daily lives.
What began with a simple wish from the heart
Will become physical acceptance.
By all means, touch me, kiss me, lick me;
Undress me – unwrap the unknown.
Drive me wild and enjoy the show.
Allow me the same pleasure.
Let me take
