Kelly, I’m glad you could join us, Ricardo Medici said as I wiggled against the butter soft leather seats of the limo, sliding into position next to him.

He was a lot older than me, around fifty, and my boss Jason’s newest big fish customer. His wavy dark hair and Italian accent had been distracting me all day. This was his first time visiting our company to see if we were a good fit for the custom work on his fleet of luxury vehicles. After weeks of intense negotiation ending with his onsite visit, he signed the biggest contract my boss had landed since he took over his new position.

I wouldn’t miss it, I replied with an inviting smile on my lips. He was handsome, even if he was more than twice my age. But I always did like a man with experience. Spending time with him was no hardship.

You look lovely, said one of the younger men who accompanied him. There were two of them, both sitting across from us, each with lighter brown hair and eyes than Ricardo. They looked enough alike they were probably brothers. As far as I knew, a lot of Italians worked in family businesses. It’s not like that here - everybody was always complaining about it, but it sounded nice to me.
