Sun streamed in the windows of the tiny cabin I was renting for the team building campout weekend. I glanced at the clock and gasped. It was close to noon already? God, I didn’t mean to sleep in so late!

But instead of jumping out of bed and hurrying to get ready, I took my time. I worked with thirty mechanics, plus my boss and the lead man. They could take care of themselves, especially since I’d planned everything out, and I’d provided a quick breakfast for everyone. I could tell they’d figured it all out because the mouth-watering smell of the BBQ lunch was wafting in through the little crack I’d left in the window to let in the night air.

I was naked beneath the covers, not a big shock, as that was my normal way to sleep. Although I couldn’t help smoothing my hair down as I got up, I ignored the dinky little bathroom and went straight to the tiny fridge. I had taken a shower and dried my hair before falling into bed and sleeping so late.

My stomach growled as I pulled out a little yogurt and a cup of mixed fruit. No matter what time I’d gotten up, I could only handle a little food when I first woke. Besides, I had arranged a day of BBQ and snacks, so no need to fill up.

Meanwhile, the guys were taking care of themselves - I had time to eat and then shower! I smiled to myself as I sat on the edge of the mattress and ate a plump, juicy piece of pineapple, thinking about how my boss, Jason, and the lead man, David, were handling things during my absence.
