My phone buzzed, waking me up. I lifted it off my nightstand to check it. It was my boss, Jason.

Hey, what’s up? I asked. It was only seven in the morning. What a strange time to call.

Hi, sweetie. You know that huge thunderstorm that came through Dallas last night? he asked.

Yeah.

Well, it knocked out the power to the entire shop. There’s not much we can do when we can’t even open the bay doors to let in sunlight. So consider this a paid day off. The electricity hotline says the grid won’t be back up and running until sometime this evening.

That’s crazy, I said, sitting up in bed and swinging my legs to the side to dangle off the edge. Then a wicked idea crossed my mind. Well, since we’re all going to be off today, why don’t you come over to my place?

A jolt of excitement ran up my spine at the thought of spending all day in bed. But my hopes were crushed when Jason answered me.

God, I’d love to, but corporate wants me up there. We’ve been talking about meeting for a while now, and the power is working fine at headquarters. I’m afraid I’m going to be there all day.

Damn, that sucks. I collapsed back against the comforter, flopping down and staring at the ceiling with disappointment.

Yeah, it does. All right, I need to call a few more guys to let him know not to come in. You take care and I’ll see you tomorrow.

I tossed my phone back onto the nightstand, still staring up at the ceiling. A whole day off really was cool, especially since I was getting paid still, but it would get real boring really fast without a little company.

With a sigh, I trudged into the bathroom and slipped off the nightie I slept in and then hopped into the shower. The scent of peaches and cream filled the air as I used my special soap. It always turned me on so hard, and I really needed to get off today.

But before I could lose myself to the soap’s aphrodisiac effects, my phone buzzed again, super loud from landing against some of the little porcelain trays I kept on the nightstand.
