Being confronted on the beach by a sexy stranger wasn't part of Sonia's plans for a peaceful morning taking photos.

When the stiff sea breeze threatened to carry away Sonia’s black beret for the third time, she sighed and stuffed it into the pocket of her heavy cardigan and got back to the task in hand. The sunshine glittered on the waters close to the old pier and she refocused the old Olympus, waiting for the larger waves to roll past the crumbling supports and break on the beach. There! Her finger stabbed the shutter release and the auto-wind ensured that half-a-dozen pictures of exploding spray were captured for future posterity.

But she wouldn’t know for sure until she got back to the darkroom and processed the shots. That was the best part of using real film; the anticipation of what she’d just captured, the thrill of the unknown until the images slowly appeared beneath the water, teasing her with shadows, lines and hints
