MAN AND IDENTITY, NEW SUBJECTIVIES?
Beatriz GERCMAN
Introduction
In the last century, the philosopher Nietzsche announced the death of God. With this metaphor he intended to allude to the disappearance of all essential ideas, of all identity, including that of the self. Certain substitutes appeared to replace the figure of God, certain ideals that we can call secular:
science trying to guarantee the intelligibility of all phenomena
faith in progress
socialism
the mystique of man, understood as an individual, subject or group

MAN AND IDENTITY, NEW SUBJECTIVIES?
Beatriz GERCMAN
Introduction
In the last century , the philosopher Nietzsche announced the death of God. With this metaphor he intended to allude to the disappearance of all essential ideas, of all identity, including that of the self. Certain substitutes appeared to replace the figure of God, certain ideals that we can call secular:
science trying to guarantee the intelligibility of all phenomena
faith in progress
socialism
the mystique of man, understood as an individual, subject or group
.
Today the man is considered dead.
As an example of this statement we can mention the French philosopher SARTRE, who tried from existential philosophy to develop an anthropology not limited to a scientific vision. Post-Sartre thought has focused on the question of man, trying to overcome Hegel's position and refuting the idea of soul or substantial personal identity.
The modern notion of human nature is born with the subject
of Descartes (17th century). This subject is conceived as opposed to nature, in the same way that the West is considered opposed to other cultures.
For Sartre, the human being is a grouped individual, whose actions take place in the context of group experiences. The individual changes as a result of being a member of the group. The groups are formed from the dialectic, which begins with praxis.
Sartre considers that the positions of sociology and psychoanalysis are partial, they cover only a certain moment of the dialectic. His conception of dialectics is based on historical action. From more current perspectives, he starts from the notion of act, a notion in which desire is involved.
From Plato, language was considered as an instrument subordinate to thought. Sartre remains attached to this conception that identifies language and consciousness, so that a science of the experience of consciousness is possible for him. According to later thinkers, man is defined more by what he says than by what he does, so the truth should not be sought on the side of history.
Sartre and action: critique of dialectical reason
From Greek philosophy, man was defined as a political animal
, that is, taking into account the specificity of his actions. Nietzsche, in the 19th century, characterized it as an animal that promises
, taking language into account.
Sartre belongs to the first position indicated, since he tried to find a foundation for the philosophy of action. In the first analyzes of him he arrives at the idea that man is ontologically free. He then reflects on Marxism and historical problems.
Consciousness is intentionality; consciousness is always consciousness of something, it is a reference to an object that transcends it. Consciousness is openness to the world.
