Epsilon Sigma Omicron saw a door opening toward the East. Epsi, as he was known to his friends, walked through it. The door closed behind him. Then the door disappeared. And where there was no door, there was no Epsi.

Gloria Songmeister Gloria would have screamed! In fact, she almost did. But at that moment, she was otherwise preoccupied. Gloria was hovering a few feet off of the ground. Her braids, whirling in the air like a helicopter had lifted her up. And now they were saying things which Gloria did not want to hear!

They were saying in an almost sing-song fashion, We’ve got Epsi. And we’re not going to let him go until he turns us into Wizards.

It was not unusual for Gloria to fly using her braids. She had flown in that manner to the far reaches of the Galaxy, taking the Tensome with her. The Tensome were her best friends with whom she had gone through Wizard School.

It was also not unusual for Gloria’s braids to sing. Though the songs were usually much more melodic. And sometimes Gloria’s braids mimicked other people speaking, as they were now mimicking her. But again, her braids usually did a much better job of it.

What was unusual was that her braids were acting independently of Gloria. Usually she was in full control.

In fact, right at the moment, somebody else was controlling Gloria’s braids. And she was fairly certain that she knew just who that was.

Then that someone let go of controlling her braids. And Gloria fell a few feet to the ground. She lay in a heap, crying. She was not crying because she was hurt. She was crying because she had lost her boyfriend. And there was nothing that she could do about it.

Gloria knew perfectly well who was controlling her braids. It had to be a Springbok and there was only one of them who had a Wand. Not even a bully could be this mean.
