He ran his fingers lovingly through her hair, again and again. His fingers deftly, expertly twisted the strands into braids. Something about this seemed familiar, too familiar.

He awoke with a start and slowly extricated is fingers from the twisted grass. It was as he feared. His hands were grass-stained again. He just could not go to school with grass-stained hands, not again. The other boys would make too much fun of him.
