Eve - Dale Stubbart
Introduction
Everybody has a different notion of what Heaven is like. In the Heaven where Jane lives, everybody is expected to use The Will to do things.
Using the Will, people in Jane’s Heaven merely have to think to accomplish anything. They never have to get their hands dirty touching anything.
Jane, though, wants to touch things. She wants to feel them in her hands. And because she refuses to use her will, she falls from societal acceptance. And then she falls from Heaven.
But falling from Heaven may be her saving grace.
Read this book to follow Jane’s story where she finds her soulmate and gets her name changed to Eve.
EVE IS A SCI-FI/FANTASY version of the Biblical story of Eve and Adam. In this version Eve is the main character and no longer a villain.
Adam and Eve is also a story in Judaism and Islam. Other stories of the first two Earthlings include Embla and Ask, Lif and Lifthrasir, Maganda and Malakas, Satarupa and Swayambhu Manu, Mashyana and Mashya, Jiva and Atman.
Eve Book One
Mary
When people were on the outs with society, they usually ended up at our place, known to our guests as Mary & Joe’s. Whether they were sent here by friends, came on their own, or were forced here by the rest of the society, we usually never knew. But they were always welcome at our place. We tried as best we could to heal the rifts they felt toward society, and to prepare them to integrate back into society.
In this way, she came to us. We did not know she was coming, she just appeared here one day.
I spent a lot of time talking with her, making her feel welcome. I must admit, I did most of the talking. I also tried to assess what job to assign her to.
As I showed her around the place and introduced her to our guests and other workers, she didn’t seem to perk up at any job. So, I assigned her to the job where I needed the most help – preparing and serving pastries.
Since I was the only other person preparing and serving pastries, I could spend a lot of time with her. And it seemed I was going to need to. The only information I’d gotten out of her so far, was her name.
Jane was good enough at making pastries. She just summoned her will, and the pastry made itself. Jane had a lot of will. Every once-in-a-while, she even seemed to take a little delight in making the pastries.
Serving them was another story. She was not interested in serving others, even though many of our guests are famous. And she always held the pastry in a plate on her hand, rather than guiding the plate in front of her by using her will.
It’s not that she couldn’t do this. But for some reason, she wanted to use her physical abilities, even if just a little bit.
I could see that Jane was going to be with us for a long time. No wonder she came here. Anybody who would rather use their body to do something, rather than their will would definitely be on the outs with society. Over time,
