The 33 Laws of Persistence - Dan Desmarques

Chapter 1 - How Other People Affect Your Decisions

Most people are unable to perceive reality beyond the present moment. As such, they trust only what they can see.

In the case of women, this is most likely related to the need to bring babies to the world and wanting to make sure they have the right conditions to be raised. Therefore, what is attractive in a partner becomes associated with what is needed from an egotistic personal standpoint — security, money, and social status.

Men don't have a very different approach to life if we consider that their attitude towards the future is related to the same security, status, and abundance that women seek.

The difference is found in writers of spiritual books, because, you see, those things are not a priority in my mind, which confuses women:

    •  How I make money with things that seem irrelevant to them;

    •  How my social status is not quantifiable or visible

    •  And the fact that the security provided is nullified by isolation from the world, as my favorite way to rest the mind is by actually doing nothing with it.

This attitude to life is very difficult to understand for women of many cultures, as I came to understand. They ask me many questions, in some cases, every day and for months, but never understand any of my answers. It is as if my answers could not be aligned with their version of reality. It is impossible for them to understand what I do!

I know that in a better reality this would not happen because a lot of what is defined as female behavior, or attraction on planet Earth, is conditioned by the state in which humanity finds itself. The same applies to the men on this planet, and that to a large proportion, feel abandoned and misunderstood. Three in four homeless people and in suicide statistics are male.

The problem with these statistics is that they push people towards the survival of the self, rather than the survival of the species. In short, what makes my life confusing for many, and in particular women, is that it is directed at the highest purpose: Survival as a planet!

You are not truly spiritual unless you are working towards this goal. Everything below this tends to be directed at the self. In fact, most people are in religion because they fear being punished by God, and not exactly because they care about the world.

As I understood, many of them are actually happy that the world is in constant conflict, as it gives them a stronger sense of security and certainty in their group and beliefs.

There's no point in investing in things that won't change, and most people really don't change anything. They don't evolve! Which doesn't mean life is easier as most people seem to be busy wasting their life away.

It's very difficult to put sense in their nonsense!

The conversations are always the same and going towards the imagination people have of how the world works. They don't listen to what I say, even when I give them the path they are looking for.

My conclusion about the world after visiting more than thirty countries and about eighty cities, is that people are basically the same everywhere, which is not necessarily good.

The majority of the population is extremely dependent — on others, the government, their feelings, their thoughts, etc —, and are both bored and boring. And this situation makes it extremely difficult to either make friends or find a spouse.

That doesn’t mean sex is scarce. As women keep devaluing themselves, sex is more easily attainable for men of value and readily available for most women.

When we move from there into relationships and marriages, the story is another. Today, on Earth, it is easier to have sex with a woman I meet on the same day than it is to consider marrying her. Most women are simply not prepared to be anyone’s wife!

The problem of society though is not on the lack of value but the acquisition of value. As soon as you start moving upwards, you find yourself battling with loneliness, and after that follows depression, lack of discipline, crazy thoughts, and quite literally, insanity.

The many digital nomads that started appearing in the latest years are nothing more than entrepreneurs escaping this boredom and depression.

Personally, I don’t need to travel so much. I simply have no reasons to stay anywhere. People detach from you very easily or don’t even want to associate with you when knowing you are free to leave at any moment. Becoming a better person, or more valuable to society, is actually discouraged.

On the other hand, most people don’t seem to associate work with wealth anymore. They think money comes with luck. Many even ask me why do I keep working so hard if I am actually retired already and don’t need to work to make an income.

The reason why is that time is limited, and energy is correlated to time. The more you work, the more you produce; and the more you produce, the faster you get your results; which then allow you to analyze your present situation differently and rethink future strategies.

This is something that those who are obsessed with earning money can’t understand, because they don’t know the difference between earning money and creating money.

Remember that the future is nothing more than a future present, and whatsoever you can imagine, you can obtain only by shortening the path between present and future, and that, inevitably requires energy and productivity.

Many people seem to ignore this, and can’t conceptualize their future, much less imagine it, or persist for long enough to reach their goals, which leads me to another topic most avoid: Leaders are not made with creative thoughts or intelligence but war strategies.

Law 1: Don’t follow people that are not going anywhere in life!

Chapter 2 - Why Freedom Scares People

People always hate that you are doing better than them in life, no matter where you find them or how holy they may seem at first. Very few people show normal standards of morality.

I don’t even require them to be extraordinary, but just normal. But this world is full of backstabbing parasites, that seek you when they want something from you, and then backstab you when you are in the worse situation in life.

The more you move upwards, the more the true colors of the world are revealed. That’s why I say life is a war, and intelligence means nothing if you are not ready to fight for what you want. Nonetheless, most people aren’t aware that life on Earth is a war and want to believe that love and compassion cure everything.

That’s very delusional and will take you nowhere if you want to truly become free!

Nobody will want you to be free! Your religious friends won’t want that; your family won’t want that; your companion in the relationship you have now or will have in the future won’t want that; nobody will.

As soon as you decide to be free, you are declaring war on every one that is immersed in the system, trusts the system, and wants this system to prevail.

What other option do they have? If the system fails, their beliefs become obsolete. And who are they without their beliefs? Nobody!

You see, a person who wants freedom is also creating a war against himself — he or she is opposing his own nature. That is why freedom is so scary for most people!

They say they want to be free but they actually don’t want it. They will use any excuse to refuse it.

The easier excuse there is to refuse freedom is to have children. That’s a great way to victimize yourself for eighteen years with something that happened, most likely, in a few seconds.

People make the wrong decisions on purpose, and then excuse themselves for nearly twenty years for doing nothing, based on the children or partners they chose to have.

In order to accept freedom, you need first to think strategically — you need a strategy of detachment, a strategy of war in the many quarrels you’ll face, and a strategy that leads you to success.

Most people lack perspective and business strategy and trust too
