Kaleidoscope of Colour - Nikolai Rozhonova

    Autumn

    Playful breeze

    becomes insistent

    Withered leaves

    cannot resist it

    Feel it gather

    Grow in sound

    Unseen fingers

    raking ground.

    Autumn draws near

    Unprepared am I

    for one more

    closing year.

    Change

    Change my words

    I insist

    Or let them change you.

    History brings us no closer

    To knowing what’s true.

    Passive observers

    Penetrate nothing

And are penetrated by nothing in return.

    Unless life enters into you

    From life you cannot learn.

    My words

    Your words

    Empty shells

    Make designs of meaning

    Sketch your blood and tears

    Eschew blind believing

    Make monsters from your fears

    Each creator born

    Reared as spectator

    Watching

    Waiting

    Lost

    Forlorn.

    Change my words

    I insist

    Make meaning

    Be new.

    Change my words

    I beg you

    Or let them change you.

    Waking

    Rainfall’s Chattering call

    Down drainpipes

    Seeping into my sleeping

    Moistening dreams

    Soaking expectations

    Of a dry day.

    Curtains closed

    Greeting me in sound

    Slow sleepy head

    Comes easily around
