Part I:
The Fall
9781257453498_0013_001Jigsaw
We are puzzle pieces wrapped around
A broken needle in the ground
It’s a light in the dark
A pause of the clock
Something we will never see again
Force fed lies by our own self
While trapped on top a pale white shelf
A seem that bleeds and sacrifices me
All the bruises discolor the greed
Something we will never see again
This river is violence damned by closure
Streams of thoughts risk life exposure
Shades of green and fall leaf red
Ground down to the molecules we have bred
Fighting yourself like a punch in the dark
Bleeding patience is a virgin walking in the park
Loosen the noose that is hanging the light
Preaching prosperity but not willing to fight
Something we will never breathe again
The fire lighting strikes us down
Melting the pieces that no one found
Impossible to put back together
When life drifts past like a ghost of a feather
Something we will never see again
Swathed
Dreams like visions
Unheard and unseen
Leaping over the valley tree
Under falls that do not wash clean
Drench me in your delight
Against the fawn sleeping with amnesty
Withdraw your anger, guilt and pain
Regain the feel of honesty
Crush me to powder then rebuild the fire
Piece by piece, limb by limb
Section me off, removing the sick pieces
Understand the loss to enjoy the win
Amplified by the electricity of death
The corset unravels
Revealing a solemn sparrow
Quiet with zeal, a life worth traveled
Hold Me In
We opened our mouths
And the words fell into the sand
The curtain of sky unfurls to let in light
And the windows close
On our hands
While we smile
We hold truth to our hearts
To its conviction
I try to come down
But we cannot release this pain
As quickly as the drugs
As fast as the reality returns to normality
With its condescending oblivion
We are exploding
Please hold us in
We are exploding
Please hold me in
Burning Down Your Own House
Her dreams
Crash
Before us
We watch them burn
We laugh
Then we run
From this vessel
Yet confide
In its lesson
Its vehicle
Transporting blame
Ignoring the obvious
Its path to happiness
The road
Void of a plateau
Keeping the game alive
Protection
From ourselves
And all we are capable of
Mindfuck
Our habits render unnecessarily
We are locked in
The mandible is massive
Its art form is inconclusive
The slits in the ground lead us
To the end of the world
Yet we know not the end
The unbelievable just became real
We are lost while clothed in our awareness
The translucent hills before us
Give peace of mind
Shred away our confusion
She is still in there
She will not leave
Fault lines
Surround our bodies
