About this ebook

A collection of poems illustrating the ups and downs of the mind, specifically, how depression spreads slowly like a cancer in our minds. The house, depicted on the cover, is an analogy of what is to come because you never know the route depression will take you. Instead of window shopping for alcohol, what happens when you are peering through the window into your own soul? Depression not only eats away at your soul, it spread to everyone around you like a virus.

Glimmer of Hope - Jeremiah E. L. Wallace

    Glimmer of Hope

Forced hope with a dash of pessimism

Only to see through the glass that makes you.

    Light shining on the floor,

Blessing my soul like a spotlight.

But the transfer of energy has begun.

For I see past the light into the room

    It is full of darkness,

But my pain is stronger than the home.

May I caste my sins and demonstrate my ability

For I am the truth, the prophet, a better being

    The light knows no bounds

Whereas darkness can spread so easily

I must make my way in to see how far,

I can go before I am lost in the night. And,

    My soul is forever lost.

    Light to my Soul

    Bright and colorful

    Mesmerizing and lovely

    Rain dampens the light

    Up and Over the Mountain

Privileged for the locations I have been

For all the sights that I have seen

To see the world for what it will bring

She was the prettiest in the spring

But, there were no pictures taken.

Realizing my memory is forsaken, Awaken

On this course for change, Tone

Of my voice slowing my arrival, Alone

Will be my future down this path, Dawn

Will never be shared with intimacy, Drawn

To my cryptic life, but I feel ill

Arrangements made for my solitude to remain still

Reminded I get the world going like a fountain

She has beckoned me to stand up like a mountain

The fluid flows down my crest, whipped, turned, and rolled

Down to the bottom of the pastures
