PREFACE
"Whoever calls on the name YHVH will be saved". That passage originated from Joel 2:32, but is repeated by Peter and Paul in the New Testament. I know your Bibles will say, ‘Whoever calls on the name of the LORD will be saved’. Where the phrase, ‘the LORD’ appears, it is an intentional mistranslation of God’s sacred Hebrew name YHVH, i.e., Yahoveh God.
Translators have, for a number of bad reasons, have substituted God’s sacred name (YHVH) with the phrase, ‘the LORD’. So, in your Bible when you see the phrase ‘the LORD’, or ‘LORD’, will all caps you can know that is a substitute for God’s sacred name in Hebrew, YHVH. So when you read ‘the LORD’, or ‘LORD’ with all caps, you can read it as YHVH or Yahoveh.
What does it mean to ‘call upon the name of YHVH? And why is it important to ‘call upon the name of YHVH’? Why is it that only those who call upon the name of YHVH will be saved? Who calls on the name of YHVH? We will deal with those questions, and more, in this book.
With Judgment day is soon approaching, and we will all be judged as to whether or not we are fit for the Kingdom of God. We will stand before the Judge and there will be no jury of our peers. The lone Judge will decide our fate, and he will judge us by criteria he has already told us about – it should not be a surprise. And I believe the first and primary question will be asked of us is, ‘Who is your God?’ However, we will not verbally need to answer that question, but somehow past scenes of our life will answer that question for us. There will be many clues; Who do we call on in a time of need? Who did we pray to? Who did we praise, thank and worship? Who did we meditate on? And, perhaps more importantly, who did we obey? And who didn’t we obey? The answers to those questions are all recorded in heaven, and that will determine our fate, that will determine who are true God is, and whether we receive saving grace or condemnation.
Our Father (YHVH) has committed judgment to the Son, and Jesus will be our judge on Judgment day. And I know that Christians are told by their churches to just trust in Jesus, love him, worship him, plead the blood and he will be your advocate when you stand before YHVH Our Father. But that’s not what Jesus told us to do, so that won’t work.
Jesus tells us in Matthew and the Book of the Revelation that ‘the many’ are Christians who will be condemned because of their false beliefs. Because of their beliefs, they don’t accept YHVH as their one true God, and thus they cannot and will not ‘call on the name of YHVH’ to be saved. Those who worship the Trinity (or Jesus) cannot call on the name of YHVH because He is not their one true God – and they are idolaters.
Those who truly call on the name of YHVH can only do so if He alone is their God, and thus they will be saved, ‘Calling on the name of YHVH’ demonstrates our faith in Him, our love for Him, our loyalty to Him, and trust in Him. So calling on the name of YHVH greatly honors Him and it is an act of worship, and that’s why ‘those who call on the name of YHVH are saved.
INTRODUCTION
Who am I? I was born the middle of nine children in a good Catholic family on a little dairy farm in southern Minnesota. As a good Catholic family we would attend Mass every Sunday, come hell or high waters. I spent my elementary school grades, 1 to 8, at a Catholic school which was taught by nuns. We spent a lot time on the study of church teachings, catechism, and doctrines, and a very little time on actual Bible study. I remember my fourth grade the teacher was going to read the Bible to us, chapter a day. She did a good job, and even tested us on the Bible stories. However, when we got to the part about Lot being in the cave with his daughters, the red faced nun suddenly stopped reading. That was the end of our reading through the Bible. At that time, I really wasn’t sure why she stopped reading.
I graduated from Public High School and went away from home to college. In my first year of college I attended church once that year. I found no interest in going, I found no reason to go, I felt no fulfillment in going, got no spiritual nourishment, it satisfied no spiritual need I had, nor did it make me feel closer to God nor did it help me to know God better. I was only loosely connected to the Catholic Church for the next 15 years and I rarely went to Mass.
About at the age of 30 there was a book published about end of world events, and it was titled ‘The Late Great Planet Earth’. My Protestant friends were talking about the book and how it related current events to the Book of the Revelation. I was mostly silent during those conversations, I listened very intently and was very interested, but I knew nothing about the Book of the Revelation, and for that matter, not much about the rest of the Bible, other than the Garden of Eden, Cain and Abel, Noah and some New Testament stories. After decades of the Catholic faith, church sermons, parochial school, Wednesday schools, Sunday schools, and lectures, I knew almost nothing about the Scriptures. Seemingly it wasn’t important enough in the Catholic Church to teach us.
So shortly after the ‘The Later Great Planet Earth’ book was published, a local Lutheran Church was offering a two year through the Bible study, I was told that it would be a quite in depth study. I decided to join. The Bible study went from Genesis through the Book of the Revelation and for the first time I understood the Bible, I saw the big picture of the Bible and many of the smaller pictures as well. I understood Biblical history and how the Prophets fit in, their messages, and then how the New Testament fits in. By the time I was done with that two year study, I knew that I couldn’t stay in the Catholic Church. I found too much in the Bible that was contrary to what the Catholics taught, practiced and preached, such as: the seven holy sacrament and each of them being a means of grace, confession to the priest, the priesthood, the papacy, the Mass, purgatory, holy water, indulgences, penance, icons, statues, transubstantiation, worship of Mary and prayers to the Saints, the rosary, nuns, storehouse of grace, salvation being exclusively for Catholics, etc.
So I left the Catholic Church and join the Luther Church at the age of 35. I was freed for those false Catholic teachings. So I found a sense of freedom in Protestantism. Yet, I continued to study the Bible, and even attended a Lutheran Seminary. After 18 years in the Lutheran Church and 8 years as a part time student at a major Protestant Seminary, where I was in my senior year, and I found that I couldn’t reconcile all of the basic Christian Church doctrines with Jesus’ words. The big issues were the Sabbath, imputed righteousness, gaining God’s saving grace by eating a communion wafer, eternal torment in hell, rejection of God’s laws, ignoring Passover to keep the Pagan Easter, the Easter Sunday Ham dinners, infant baptism, etc. So I left the Lutheran church and joined the Seventh day
