There is a major spiritual decline that has set in among many believers – a walk-stand-sit progression according to which the Christian society is slowly but surely becoming worldly. It starts with a Christian walk that is loosely connected to a church, which leads to churchless “standing still”, and finally a Godless, apathetic “sitting down”.
Psalm 1 begins with a similar description of the danger when believers flirt with a Godless world. At first, they only “walk” in the counsel of the ungodly. Soon they “stand” in the way that sinners take. Finally,
