About this ebook

Many Christians have found themselves in very sad or troublesome situations. It seems as if the hardest thing to do is not to cry out and to feel the joy of the Lord. I have walked in despair and joy, and I can say that life can be so hard to handle without the presence of joy. To those that may be suffering or are currently suffering, you can make it through, the Lord can help, and with the proper strength of the Lord, even those that may be down or who have lost hope can still experience the joy.

When you are dealing with a mental illness, your relationship with God starts to get undermined. The truth is that your relationship with God is the most important in your life. If you ignore your anxiety or depression, you will never really feel peace or find lasting happiness. The Myth is that we are not living in God's presence. It tells us that our life is not under God's guidance and that there is nothing that we can do to bring peace and joy into our lives. One can feel unworthy, unable to trust, and vulnerable.

So, when you are dealing with anxiety or depression, you need to decide if you want to be authentic or if you want to cover it up.

Depression And The Christian Life - Joy Whittle Benson

    Introduction: Affirmation

Iwill lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.

My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth.

He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber.

Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.

The Lord is thy keeper: the Lord is thy shade upon thy right hand.

The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night.

The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul.

The Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore. - Psalm 121 KJV

WHEN I LIFT MY HEAD to the hills from whence cometh my help from depression, I will be in charge of my thoughts and actions.

When I lift my head to the hills from whence cometh my help from depression, I will have the confidence to face life with the courage that I need to face it and do the things that I need to do to be happy. I will look at problems and obstacles from a different perspective because the Lord Jesus can solve my problems that seem impossible. I will be able to live life with a clear mind. I will draw strength and inspiration from the word of God, and I will be able to live life joyfully.

When I lift my head to the hills from whence cometh my help from depression, I will be motivated to make the necessary changes that are required to feel good about myself. I will be encouraged to change the way I think, speak, and act to eliminate all the negative feelings about myself and life in general. I will remove all the things that make me feel sad, depressed, angry, or scared.

I will be motivated to make the necessary changes to feel better about myself to lift my head to the hills from whence cometh my help from depression. I will have the strength to move on and be successful in every endeavor that I choose to embark upon because The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul.

Anyone with depression can lift their head to the hills and seek Jesus from whence cometh their strength and inspiration
