About this ebook

I Am Everything I Need, is a quick reference tool I created for a boost of motivation. During my self-love journey, I found myself discouraged and reverting back to old behavior. There were times when I was forced to face harsh realities about myself that absolutely terrified me. Some of them were so shameful, I wasn’t proud to admit them to myself. It’s always easier to go back to what was normal and be accepted, as oppose to finding out what’s on the other side and accepting yourself. Learning to love ourselves is a lesson that teaches us how to be successful in life. It helps us nurture ourselves back to life and gain the necessary tools we need to individualize our own wants and needs. This book is my way of reminding myself who and what God created me to be. It’s a reminder of how far I’ve come and a clear roadmap to where I’m going.

Dear Mom,

Is it silly of me to think that you were immortal? I never thought there would come a day I would have to learn to adjust with life without you. I remember getting the phone call from Derrick saying you wouldn’t wake up and your body was cold. Even with the words being said to me, I remained calm and controlled. I told Derrick to ask the Paramedic to confirm if you were still breathing and that’s when you were announced dead. Before I could comfort myself, I promised Derrick that I would be there for him and was on my way. I remember my legs beginning to tremble and almost falling through the shower doors. I was about to take a shower when I got the news. Maybe that’s why the shower became my safe place? Before I could collapse, something held me up. I believe that was you.

You’ve always been my source of strength, yet I can never hold back my tears when I think of you. I used to cry from the pain of your absence. Today, I cry because I know I’ve made you proud. You were such a good Mom and I miss
