41 Ways to AMAZE Her - Julie G Jackson
Introduction
I
f only I had a copy of this book when I learned my wife was first pregnant. We were both clueless. Nothing prepared us for both the delight and utter fear we both experienced. Reading and getting a lot of supportive advice helped my wife make it through each trimester; however, I could not find valuable information online for expectant dads. Sure, my friends and co-workers gave me a good pat on the back, giving me well-intentioned but terrible advice warning me of the ups and downs I would soon experience, but that was it! That was my introduction to taking care of a pregnant wife.
I tried my best to be a loving, supportive partner, and I think I did a pretty good job. A little nudge here and there from my wife helped, but I wished I had more wisdom while going through each trimester. Nausea, fatigue, and mood swings threw me for a loop. I didn’t know how to help and encourage her. As the pregnancy continued, I did all the things dads do, like setting up the crib and holding her hand when she needed support, but I wanted to do more. She was carrying my child, and I wanted to make the experience a little easier and more enjoyable for her.
For now, give your pregnant wife a big hug and a kiss. She will have a lot of things to adjust to. The 40 weeks are not always easy to get through, but your attention and understanding can significantly improve the experience. Her physical and emotional wellbeing is of high importance since it affects the baby’s health and development. What she needs most of all is to be pampered and reminded that you are there to be her loving partner when she needs you the most. It is so important to make the woman who is carrying your child feel good about herself. She may be difficult, moody, and emotional due to hormonal changes. Still, the bottom line is her state of mind because experts believe the unborn child is aware of the mother’s emotions and feelings. Being helpful and becoming your wife’s hero while pregnant could lead to a much happier atmosphere at home, resulting in an easier birthing process for both of you. Research has shown moms experience a better overall pregnancy when their partner is actively involved. Not only will she benefit from your support, but she’ll feel more secure knowing you will be a reliable partner when the baby arrives as well.
I loved the experience of looking after my wife while she was pregnant with our child. It brought us closer than we were before she was pregnant. It taught me how to step up as a husband and expectant father. I learned how important it is to be the support she needs. I found how remarkable my wife really is. I want every expectant father reading this book to benefit from my experience and look forward to the extraordinary gift coming in a few short months.
The fact she is growing your baby inside of her 24/7 is amazing. This book will give you all the tools you need to be her superhero. I’ve thought of everything she could need or want. I will walk you through, step by step, until you have mastered everything necessary to make your pregnant wife the happiest she’s ever been. Fellas, she will never forget the effort you make during this special time, so highlight the upcoming chapters that speak to you and sweep her off her (swollen) feet!
You’ll hear the term wife
a lot in this book, so substitute it with girlfriend, lover, partner, or whatever relationship describes your situation.

Chapter #1 Foot Rubs
Yes, I will make this the #1 way to amaze her because it is the most appreciated. Her body is changing, and it’s all happening within a few months. She is probably on her feet all day. Her feet will be tired, sore, and swollen with the additional weight, worry, and emotional upheaval. You don’t have to be a professional masseur to give her some relief. Include her ankles and calves as the entire event for a pregnant woman is such a gratifying experience. It’s easy to do when you two sit on the couch together watching tv or hanging out with friends. Messaging her feet also offers an opportune time to talk about each other’s days or ask her how she feels.
Messaging her feet is welcomed, but I would like to recommend doing it in style. Purchase a natural or organic foot cream with a sweet smell such as citrus or vanilla. Be careful not to buy an essential oil-based product. In general, when it comes to essential oils, aromatherapy is a safer option for pregnant women instead of using it topically. If she complains smells are becoming a nuisance for her, you can purchase a foot cream without scent. Not only will she welcome the foot rub, but she will be extra impressed with your foresight and thoughtfulness.
Studying reflexology pressure points on her feet can target her problem areas. For example, make small circles with your thumb on her big toes to help relieve her headache or small circles on the top of her foot between the first two toes to relieve nausea. Google reflexology and take note of its many benefits to practice.
If she has swollen feet, gentle massage will bring some relief. Swollen feet are very common during the third trimester as her body produces more fluid than normal. If she is on her feet all day, she should be taking breaks. The swelling will increase the more she stands. It may be time to take maternity leave from work if the swelling becomes too painful. Elevating her feet, exercise, walking, and ankle rotations will help improve the blood flow, and soaking her feet with Epsom salt will help reduce the swelling.
In addition to her feet, neck and back massage will give her a great deal of relief. Her body is changing, and learning how to sit, stand, kneel and get up out of bed in a way that will not be painful is challenging. She will be feeling tension in her neck, shoulders, and lower back. When messaging her, listen for the groans. You’ll know when you are getting it right.
There are videos on YouTube to help with techniques, hints, and suggestions.
Massage is excellent therapy; however, stretching is another great way to relieve aches and pains. Stretching out her arms, legs, back, and neck will give her some relief. Doing this daily before bed
