About Me - An introduction to why I am writing this

A Kiwi born and breed I love living on the West Coast of New Zealand in our work in progress house on the hill with the river nearby and the bush just as close.  Travelling excites me as I love to learn new things and I have certainly done my fair share.  Lately however I am realizing that the real journeys I am learning from the most are those that are happening everyday as I home-educate and live day to day with our children, interact with my husband, grow a business and remember to nurture myself and our family. 

A teacher in a previous life (before children that is) I have also dabbled in retail, animal care, child care, sales, crafts, management and writing before training in Naturopathy and Reflexology.  I still come back to education, children and crafts every time though – it seems that without these three things I feel life is less than it should be.  In line with this came the idea of creating a business to help busy mothers whose health issues and stress levels are stopping them from living the life fully.  It IS possible to be empowered, take control and be healthy so you can blossom and grow. This book will show you how. My business Becoming Healthy has changed often as I grow and learn, however this combination of tools to empower those of us doing one of the most important jobs of all – educating and caring for children- feels like the best.

I feel so blessed to be living a ‘holiday’ life style (with the freedom we enjoy as a family being able to go where we want, when we want) in a ‘holiday’ destination with such beauty around me.  You can also capture this joy and peace each day, living your ‘holiday’ lifestyle with your family.  Dreams are there for a reason – to remind us of all the wonderful possibilities we hold inside!

Welcome, Welcome, Welcome

So, I’m putting this out there now, nerves and all ready to begin the New Year.  Though I have been using these tools for quite a while it has to be said, I still learn more the more I use them. They clear away layers of the past to leave me feeling refreshed and I know they can help you too, if you let them.  They are tools to help you have happier and healthier days.

They are not tools to be used once and left, as you will find that as one thing clears another will follow – this is life and this is change and growth.  There is one certainty in life and that is change. Sometimes we love it and other times we resist like crazy, either way I know you will move through those changes with determination and strength, adapting as you go. How do I know?  Because if you are reading this then the likelihood is you are a mother and mothering is all about moving through changes with determination and strength as you adapt!  These tools are here to help hold that strength, work with your necessary adaptations and help you through that resistance, the resistance which is robbing you of having the days you can enjoy.

I’m putting it out there so you can begin a wonderful and joyous year with your family and children regardless of which month you start in.  The tools, books and ideas in here are all from my heart, head, hands and family.  These are ideas which we have loved, used, tried out and as mentioned still using.  They are tools I have
