Within 21 days after accepting JESUS CHRIST as her personal LORD and SAVIOR, the HOLY SPIRIT began to strongly deal with her in regards to praying for others and her call to intercession. HE began by showing her visions of how HE hears the heart cries of individuals, personally and collectively. As the years progressed, HE taught her many real-life lessons on who, what, when, why and how to pray, intercede and travail for people, situations and concerns of HIS heart; which was over 30 years ago. In those early years HE connected her to a wonderful, powerful intercessor Mrs. Estella Jones while she lived in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She stayed under her powerful tutelage for several years until she passed in 1995. Currently, she is a widow and resides in Chesapeake, Virginia. She is a mother of one (1), granny to three (3) and great granny of one (1). And as a Mount Global Fellowship of Churches partner and intercessor, she is under the awesome tutelage of Elder D. Goodrich who pastors The Mount Western Branch under our Presiding Prelate, Bishop Kim Walter Brown and Elder Valerie K. Brown. Bishop Brown calls Pastor Goodrich the ‘Demon Slayer’. Pastor Goodrich’s monthly or quarterly teaching and training sessions has enabled the HOLY SPIRIT to best cultivate, solidify and scaffold Dr. Roberts’ ministry gift of intercession; to fight the good fight of faith, best handle the WORD of GOD and remain steadfast in fasting and prayer.

First and foremost, WELCOME!

O ur Abba Father wants you to understand that He loves and appreciates you! He is elated that you are embracing your call to intercession, and through this book, He wants to reiterate all the more that heaven knows your name. Please know that this book was specifically drafted for you, His novice and that its intent is to escort you through some fundamental knowledge of this call.

As a believer and His intercessor, you may already know that His wisdom is the principal thing (Proverbs 4:7), and receiving and walking in His wisdom is your call of duty. His wisdom is His good judgment, insight, astuteness, and perception. Therefore, we as His intercessors need to get His wisdom, and with all of our getting, we need to secure His understanding before we speak or declare a thing to be in the earthly realm. He wants us to get and keep His wisdom that we may walk in the way of good men and keep on the path of the righteous (Proverbs 2:20).

Understanding this, He wants all believers to trust Him with all their hearts and lean not on their own understanding but in all their ways acknowledge Him that He would direct their paths (Proverbs 3:5–6) for He is not a God who takes pleasure in wickedness, nor shall evil dwell with Him (Psalm 5:4). So, as you read, study, and absorb the contents of this book, you will see that it is filled with the Word of God, which is health to your body and to your natural bones (Proverbs 3:8) and spiritual marrow (Hebrews 4:12). His Word is your milk (1 Peter 2:2) and meat (John 4:32, 34). Likewise, the Word of God is a quick and powerful discerner of the heart as we read in Hebrews 4:12,

For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

As the Holy Spirit enables you to understand the Word of God, which is your sword and shield, He also helps you to understand how to use it to decree, declare, and proclaim a thing in prayer. So as you study the Word, the Holy Spirit releases His wisdom, knowledge and understanding into your subconscious and conscious mind and transforms you and your warring skills from the inside out. Thus, knowing and applying His Word daily is a must do. The Word of God causes you to champion in every fight and in every battle spiritually and naturally. As you worship Him and work His Word, you stay victorious! Likewise, in the precious name of His Son, Jesus Christ, and by the authority your Heavenly Father has given you to use His name in the earthly realm, always remember to bind and loose in His name according to Matthew 16:19 and Matthew 18:18.

And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven. (Matthew 16:19)

Assuredly, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven." (Matthew 18:18)

Bind the prince of the power of the air. (Ephesians 2:2)

And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins, in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience, among whom also we all once conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, just as the others. (Ephesians 2:1–3)

In the name of Jesus Christ, bind all demonic links, familiar spirits, plots, plans, sources, and forces from attacking you, the individual you are praying for, or the people of God or situation you are praying for. In the name of Jesus Christ, command that each demonic work be stopped! In the name of Jesus Christ, declare that each demonic source, work, curse, or ploy be stopped, made inoperable, and totally ineffective, removed, and destroyed now. In the name of Jesus Christ, decree that the mission, assignment, or plot of each demonic influence is canceled, stripped of all its strength and power in regard to that individual or situation, so that His will is done on earth as it is in heaven. As well, ask your Father to release His angelic hosts, and even His giant, warring angels to fight for and prevail in the situation, life, heart, mind, spirit, or soul of the individual, in Christ’s name.

On a personal note, when the Holy Spirit first began to minister, teach and instruct me on how to flow with Him and to follow His leading, He said to me, Keep the channel clear! In those early years, He would say to me, Come away, my beloved, and I would come because He cleared the way for me to come and to stay in His presence awhile; be it thirty minutes, an hour or longer. In those moments back then, I was so green. I was just learning! I had no clue. I hadn’t fully grasped the call of intercession or spiritual warfare mantle on my life. Maybe this is how you are feeling today—new? Nevertheless, you hear His call for you to come, and so here you are with your Abba Father, Lord Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. So I say to you, make every effort to enjoy your communion with these Guys… your Father, His Son, and the Holy Spirit. Enjoy your journey together for your times together were preordained just for you. Know that you have been favored to fight, to decree and declare war with a host of angels assisting you. So fight and prevail; walk in His love, peace, and protection.

Closet Warrior was designed to encourage you to develop a wholesome understanding of what is needed to stay victorious as His intercessor, but it also embraces these all-inclusive concepts:

• accepting the will of God for your life

• studying the Word of God

• hearing and obeying the leading of the Lord

• praying in obedience

• loving unconditionally

• walking in His wisdom, knowledge, and understanding

• following directions as He instructs

Always strive to do as He instructs, the way He says to, with whom He says to, and when He says to, and you will always be victorious in the name of Jesus Christ.
