About this ebook

Truly divine wisdom is the greatest treasure in heaven and on earth and that is what this book explains. Each human heart seeks for a precious treasure and the Holy Scriptures teaches us to store up for ourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. Because where our treasure is, there our hearts will be also.

Divine wisdom is more precious than rubies, gold, silver and diamonds and nothing we desire on earth can be compared with her. It is said that even if there is a perfect man on earth, without divine wisdom he would be considered as nothing. Wisdom’s purpose is for self- management, family management, administering the people of God and to govern the earth. Therefore, wisdom is the kingdom, and the kingdom is wisdom, because the desire for wisdom is the way to acquire a kingdom and the desire for the kingdom is to honour and receive wisdom. Wisdom is for rulership and those who get hold of her will govern nations and rule over people, and the Lord will reign over them forever.

    Preface

T his book in your hand is an instruction manual or road map that will enlighten you to discover where the greatest treasure is and how to get hold of it. What profit is there in wisdom that is hidden and in treasure that no one has discovered? You may not benefit as much from the great truths of the sacred scripture if you are not born again or a true believer in our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, because it talks purely about the kingdom of the Messiah.

However, there is still hope for every soul. Scripture teaches that anyone who believes in the Son of God shall be saved, but anyone who does not is condemned already, because he did not believe in the testimony of God about his Son. Such an individual renders God a liar by his incredulity, and this is the seriousness of the sin and the sentence that shall take many to hell. Whoever denies this redemptive work denies God. How can we neglect such a great salvation?

Hell was not created for man, but for the devil and his fallen angels. God does not want us to waste our lives and miss the mark on earth, because he loves us. And this love is so immense and unconditional toward human beings that God does not have time to think about any other thing but humanity. Scripture declares, What is mankind that you are mindful of them, human beings that you care for them? (Ps.8:4). God meditates on you daily because you are special to him. Again I say, you are special! You are special because you are fearfully and wonderfully made. God took time to create you. Your frame was not hidden from him when you were made in the secret place, when you were woven, created, and knit together in your mother’s womb. You are a wonderful and extraordinary work of God’s creation that constitutes both his image and likeness. Look at how he expressed his love for you: if you were the only human being on earth, he would still have died for you. This shows how personally he loves you.

God swore by his integrity to be our Savior. He said, Turn to me and be saved, all you ends of the earth; for I am God, and there is no other (Isaiah. 45:22). In response to this call, every knee shall bow, and every tongue swear in repentance and say, In the Lord alone are righteousness and strength. But all those who rage against him will come to him and be put to shame. There are many people who have fought against God, and all have lost. He is the anvil that has broken many hammers.

Swearing to God means we confess with our lives. Why? Because we are changing citizenship from natural to supernatural, from the kingdom of darkness to the kingdom of light, and from sin to righteousness. When we yield to him, we begin to hate the sin we loved and love the God we hated. The Holy Scripture is a tool for understanding God’s will for our lives, if we will listen to what it says. It is a special revelation from God. It explains who God is and how he expects us to act. It shows the consequences of either accepting or rejecting his message.

In conclusion, I would ask to be permitted to give a word of advice to the reader. Obviously, a mind solidified with an intelligent thought is like stucco decoration on a smooth wall. A decision is required to believe and to trust in Jesus the Savior. Do not expect to abide in him unless you give your entire heart. When you do, the divine wisdom, which is the greatest treasure, will become yours. Wealth and wages can make life sweet, but finding divine treasure is better than either. Gold and silver give a person security, but good advice is more valued than either. Wealth and strength make a person confident, but the fear of the Lord is better than either.

Those who fear the Lord lack nothing; they do not need to look for help. The fear of the Lord is like a garden of blessing; it covers a person better than any glory. Who would, after seeking the King’s palace, be content to stand in the door, when he is invited in to dwell in the King’s presence, and share with Him in all the glory of His royal life? Oh, let us enter in and abide, and enjoy to the full all the rich supply His wondrous love has prepared for us! These

poetic words were written by Saint Andrew Murray.¹

May the Lord bless you and keep you. May the Lord make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you. May the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace. Amen.

    Introduction

T he subject of divine wisdom is seldom taught in the circles of the body of Christ today. Because of this, many believers are suffering to know who they are in Christ, who is their King, and what they are supposed to do in the kingdom of God. All that Jesus preached and taught was about the kingdom of God. How do we profess the kingdom here on earth and ignore its greatest element that makes the King of kings to rule and reign over his priest kings and to influence the affairs of this world? The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Messiah, and he will reign forever and ever (Rev. 11:15).

Throughout scripture, divine wisdom is highlighted on very important and sensitive issues, like the spiritual growth of a believer, the ways of God in this life, the establishment of the kingdom of God here on earth by the church, and the making known of the manifold wisdom of God unto the principalities and powers in the heavenly places. Our spiritual growth depends on how deeply we dive into the person of Christ, until Christ is formed in us. For in Christ dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily. Deep calls to deep (Psalm. 42:7).

Therefore Jesus, who is the wisdom of God, does not want us to dwell in the shallow spiritual waters. He wants us to be filled with the manifold divine wisdom, which he has desired before the foundation of this world. The deeper we go, the more we become sanctified in his holiness. And in that holy living, we also manifest our King in his kingdom.

Divine wisdom is the spiritual height that every born-again believer must attain so that God can think, plan, and act together with us, his spiritual children, in the kingdom. The spiritual fruit of wisdom becomes useful to us in our eternal walk with God and provides blessings for those who meet us.

God showed Moses his ways, and he showed the people of Israel his acts. Blessed are all who fear the Lord, who walk in obedience to him. You will eat the fruit of your labor; blessings and prosperity will be yours. Your wife will be like a fruitful vine within your house; your children will be like olive shoot around your table. Yes, this will be the blessing for the man who fears the Lord" (Psalm. 128:1–4).

Wisdom gives prudence to the simple. It gives the young man knowledge and discretion that preserves, keeps, and delivers him from the evil way. The Lord is ever ready to show and teach us his ways so that we can walk in his paths. Our way of life here on earth should be the way of God, influencing our generation as salt and illuminating the dark world as light. For he said, I instruct you in the way of wisdom and lead you along straight paths (Prov.4:11). The way of God is the way of life, and the way of life is to be filled with the fullness of God.

James I. Parker said, The ignorance of God’s ways and the practice of communion with him lie at the root of the church’s weakness today.²

Establishing the kingdom of God here on earth is very important to God. It is written, Our father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven (Matt. 6:9–10).

And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth. To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood and has made us to be a kingdom and priests to serve his God and Father—to him be glory and power for ever and ever! Amen (Rev. 1:5–6).

The purpose for which God called us into the kingdom of priests is that he will rule and reign over us, so that his will shall be done here on earth as it is in heaven. The way to establish this kingdom here on earth is to grant all the kings of his chosen generation the divine wisdom by which they will also reign, doing what is right, just, and fair. Without wisdom, it is impossible to reign and rule. As it is written; Counsel and sound judgment are mine; I have insight, I have power. By me kings reign and rulers issue decrees that are just; by me princes govern, and nobles—all who rule on earth (Prov. 8:14–16).

The manifold wisdom of the Most High God must be made known unto the principalities and powers in the heavenly places, because he is omnipotent and his power is an incomparably great power. Jesus said, I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you (Matt. 28:18; see also Luke 10:19; Eph. 3:10).

If Satan were to remain an angel, then who would man be to cast him out, bind him, and trample over him? Angels are strong beings. However, we give glory to God that, in his divine wisdom, he has debased the anointed cherub to become a serpent, a beast, and a dragon so that human beings can rule over him. Why? Because man’s given dominion is to rule over the fish of the sea, the birds of the air, and the beasts of the earth—over all the earth and over every creeping thing. The possibility of God’s omnipotence is seen in the book of Daniel, in which God changed the spirit, soul, and body of a man into a beast—King Nebuchadnezzar, the proud king.

According to the working of God’s mighty power, the church has been given the right to rule the crooked ruler, who is the devil. This is a mystery that has been hidden from the ages but now has been revealed to his saints. Christians should not be deceived. I repeat: Christians should never be deceived. Christians must be spiritually wise people.

Divine wisdom is not only for Christian leaders to exercise, but for all who believe in Jesus Christ and are newly created. We are all called into holiness, shared leadership, and shared dominion. All are kings and all are priests, and yet this does not negate God’s authority laid up for the church. The package is for all to enjoy. Jesus clearly said this in the parable of the wise and the foolish virgins (Matt. 25:1–13). The ten women were all virgins. They had oil lamps, and they had the same purpose: to meet the bridegroom. Why was it that five were allowed in and five disallowed? Five were wise virgins. They knew their master’s will, and they were ready to meet him. They took extra oil to replenish their lamps. The other five, in their folly, did not know their master’s will. They did not take extra oil to cover the wait for the bridegroom. Read this parable—it is outrageous! It means 50 percent of believers of Christ are wise and 50 percent are unwise.

Ephesians suggests, Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is. Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit (Eph.5:17–18). When we are wise, we will know the will of God. Anyone who grows in the Spirit is filled with wisdom. It means we are filled with extra oil.

What does this mean, to take up extra oil? It meant that the wise virgins sought to meet the bridegroom with all diligence, faithfulness, and vigilance because they understood the Lord’s will. This is a treasure of every prudent believer. The wise store up choice food and olive oil, but fools gulp theirs down (Prov. 21:20). The wise virgins were filled with the Spirit of God.

Apostle James wrote that if any Christian lacks divine wisdom, let him ask God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him (James1:5). Without reproach means that God will not count on our unworthiness, but on the worthiness of his Son in us.

Now I ask this: Where is all the divine wisdom that God has given to us by the Holy Spirit? All the treasure of wisdom invested and hidden in our Lord Jesus Christ for us, where is it? I believe that if all born-again believers will determine to grow up spiritually and walk by the wisdom of God, we will dwell safely and be secured without fear all the days of our lives.

There is a treasure undiscovered by the believers of the Lord Jesus Christ today.

The question of divine wisdom in the kingdom of God should not be taken lightly. Kings detest wrongdoing, for a throne is established through righteousness (Prov. 16:12). Anyone who loves righteousness and hates evil will be anointed with oil more than his fellows. How shall we reign with our Lord Jesus Christ in heaven when we do not know how to rule and reign here on earth?

Those who rise early to seek wisdom will not find it difficult, for they will find her sitting at the gate. Meditating upon wisdom brings perfect understanding, and those who watch for her will soon be free from care. For she goes about seeking those who are worthy of her, and she graciously shows herself to them in their daily activities and meets them in every thought they have.

Those who use wisdom’s riches become the friends of God, because in His awesomeness, God reigns from heaven above with wisdom, power, and love.

Wisdom is supreme; therefore, get wisdom. Though it cost all you have, get understanding.

    Chapter 1

    THE SPIRITUAL GROWTH

    OF A BELIEVER

    39132.png

Wisdom is the spiritual height which every born-again believer must attain.

Our Lord Jesus Christ, at the age of twelve, became a son of the law and began to do what was lawful and right. It became apparent to most of the Jewish community that he was not an ordinary child. The Jews and the scholars were amazed at his ability to comprehend and to teach scripture.

T he boy Jesus one day stayed behind in Jerusalem after the feast of the Passover. Three days later, he was found in the Temple by his parents, sitting in the middle of the teachers, both listening to them and asking questions. All who heard him were astonished at his understanding and answers. The Bible affirms that the child grew and became strong in spirit, filled with wisdom; and the grace of God was with him (Luke 2:40).

All that Jesus was able to teach and to do was by wisdom. He became strong in the Spirit and filled with wisdom. This activated the grace of God upon his life, so he could do remarkable work. A king delights in a wise servant, but a shameful servant arouses his fury (Prov. 14:35).

He understood the spiritual height from the beginning, and by the zeal of God, he was able to accomplish his Father’s business. This is the way to reach the spiritual dimension that God has preordained for us to attain—the fullness of God.

To become strong in the Spirit is to grow in the power of the Word of God. It means to desire or crave pure spiritual milk. The Word of God must be able to build us up. Meditating on the Word of God is also very important if we want to be spiritually strong. We must focus our thoughts on his words. It is the Word of God that makes us spiritual and not our piety. Time must be set aside each day for quiet seeking of the Lord through his Word and prayer. Again I say, seek him diligently in his Word. For Samuel did not know the Lord until God revealed himself to him at Shiloh by his word. David said, Better is one day in your courts than a thousand elsewhere (Ps. 84:10).

When we become strong in the Word of God, he fills us with his wisdom, which enables us as believers to rule and reign in his kingdom. Until we grow spiritually into sonship (maturity), God cannot entrust us with wisdom, which is the greatest treasure to us. As long as an heir is underage, he is no different from a slave, although he owns the whole estate. The heir is subject to guardians and trustees until the time set by his father (Gal. 4:1–2). No one would like to give his important treasure to a little child who will mishandle or damage it. The child may not see how precious or worthy the treasure is and may even cast those valuable pearls before swine.

The spiritual growth of a believer does not take as many years as we think. Read Luke 13:6–9. The master seeks for our spiritual fruit three years after planting the seed of the Word of God in our hearts. Our commitment to truth and the decision to count the cost of discipleship always yield abundant and lasting fruits for the Master’s glory.

Throughout the Bible, God looks for wise-hearted individuals to work for him. He pours out his Spirit on them and makes his thoughts known to them so that they can take up very sensitive positions for his glory. It is written, But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light (1 Pet. 2:9). His people once were not a people but are now the chosen of God. So we should conduct ourselves honorably and live our lives in the fear of God. God wants us to be wise people, because the wise in heart will always receive instructions and follow them.

This is what we have been called to do as kings and priests of God. As a matter of fact, when we grow spiritually in wisdom, God declares what his thoughts are to us. By these declared thoughts of God, we are filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. A Christian who can clearly hear the voice of the Holy Spirit, yet is not educated secularly and is not a leader of a church, needs wisdom to manage personal affairs for better living. Divine wisdom is the ability to hear and to do what the Spirit says. If you can hear the Spirit speak and you can obey spiritual manifestations in the church, then you can listen to instructions from the Spirit to help you develop your private life in self-sufficiency and spiritual uplift. Lack of listening is the problem of Christianity today. The divine wisdom that God has imparted to us is the Spirit of human management. The Bible says, For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God (Rom. 8:14).

This masterpiece of wisdom’s resource is to help Christians understand the mystery of human management by divine wisdom. "And we know that in
