    HEROES

H eroes are made on the battlefields of life. They are not pretty as a picture, little Miss Priss or floating around on pillows. They are dirty, stinking, and bleeding but also pursuing. Heroes are not pew sitters. Demon forces come at them in the forms of fear, lack, debt, and what they think can’t be accomplished. But God. Only in God and moving in the promises. Dirty, stinking and bleeding, these heroes are the doers of the Word.

God once showed me a vision of a soldier hunkered down in a ditch. He was young, strong, educated, trained—part of an army. He had his weapons and was wearing his helmet, but he was not advancing. Bombs and bullets were flying over his head. He was not coming out of his foxhole. He might as well have been waving the white flag of surrender. He was already captive because he would not fight. Ephesians talks about putting on the armor of God. Well, this soldier was wearing his armor but not fighting the good fight of faith.

God told me that your salvation you may have, but from the position of hiding in a ditch, the victory you will never see. God said my people are hiding in the earth.

God knows the posture of our heart, and our posture speaks far louder than our armor. Where are your pursuit, faith, and obedience? Waging war in moments like these is when you will find out what you are made of.

The wicked flee when no one pursues, But the righteous are bold as a lion. (Proverbs 28:1)

Break the arm of the wicked and the evil man; Seek out his wickedness until You find none. (Psalm 10:15)

God taught me that we are filled with might and power. He who is in us is greater than he who is in the world. The Second Amendment gives citizens the right to bear arms. This means a militia to preserve freedom and for one’s protection if attacked. We have spiritual weapons that need to be on display for the evil forces coming at us.

    THE TWO-EDGED SWORD

T hink of the game of darts. An Olympic darts-man does not miss the bullseye. His launch is stealth, and it hits the target; it does not miss the mark.

God does not miss the mark. The sword, the Word of God, hits the intended target, cuts out the old heart and puts in a new one. The wound will take time to heal just as physical wounds do. One edge of the sword cuts out the heart; the other edge leaves behind the balm of Gilead for healing.

For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. (Hebrews 4:12)

I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. (Ezekiel 36:26)

    DEMONS

D emons? Did you say demons, they only exist in Africa! R ight?

Demons are the real deal even though Christians like to act as if demons had no power, but demons can hang onto you like a monkey on your back. Someone you live with might be carrying one around. A demonic presence. The Bible lists many demons including Beelzebub, Belial, Behemoth, Mammon, Leviathan, principalities, Aballon/Apolyon, the strong man, Legion, and others.

I am a joint heir with Christ and seated in heavenly places. Just as a congressional seat holds influence, power, and privileges, mine does. I have the right to bind demonic power, cast out devils, and heal the sick. My seat has the authority and righteousness in the name of Jesus to do so. All authority in heaven and earth has been given me in the name of Jesus.

I am covered in the blood of the Lamb. I am the one Jesus died for so I might have life more abundantly, not a stinking demon. I have been given gifts, talents, callings, mantles, and a destiny that are without repentance. And by the way, we are expected to use them. It’s called living and abiding in Him and moving in His presence.

Where I stand is holy ground because the presence of the Lord is there, even if I stand on enemy territory. While you are standing on enemy territory, command the devil to pay you back seven times what the canker worm stole from you. He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world. For it is not by might or by power but by the Spirit of the Lord that we can command atmospheres and bind or loose on the earth as it is in heaven. (Matthew 18:18).

Demons don’t just leave in a minute. Of course they can because God is sovereign and He can do anything, anytime, and anywhere that does not go against His Word. In the Old Testament, God said He would drive them out from before us little by little. Sometimes the ITES had to be forced out of the Promised Land. These demons are called squatters. They refuse to go, and a fight must be engaged.

Christians don’t like to think they could be carriers of evil influences. But I ask this. We usually agree that infirmities are not of God. Well, if it is not of God then who is it of? (Satan). Where did your illness come from? Who created it? If we agree we can command sicknesses to leave in the name of Jesus, why can’t we command other demonic influences to leave us as well? Not as if cursing, half-truths, little white lies, and gossiping tongues have a hold on any of the church. And what about porn, gambling, drinking and every other skeleton in our closets?

We aren’t really taught how to combat generational curses or close ancestral doors. How to know our angels and be aware of demonic forces; we could be under demonic influence and not know it.

Do you have a demonic influence? (thought patterns, word curses, actions, desires)

    What is your bondage?

    What is your stronghold?

Where do you need to bind the strong man?

Or how can one enter a strong man’s house and plunder his goods, unless he first binds the strong man? And then he will plunder his house. (Matthew 12:29)

If you have been dealing with an issue but cannot gain control over it, you better ask if it is a demonic force that needs casting out. Witch doctors aren’t the only ones demons are watching and attacking. The fact that you are a Christian has put you on a hit list and there are monitoring sprits watching you, crouching at your door looking for a crack in your foundations as a legal entrance. Whammo, does one have you?

You say NO, NO, NO. GREAT!

I prefer to ask God if He needs to show me anything I need to see so I will know what God thinks, not what I think.

We all can get mad, angry, how about fits of rage? Are you a know-it-all, expert on anything and everything all the time? We can also be fearful, weary, worried, and anxious. Jesus gave His life so we could be free of these things and the even harder things: sex addiction, drugs, and acts you won’t even begin to utter. My friend, God already knows them and already chose to spread His arms wide on the cross and say, I love you this much. So, quit hiding them and running from your problems; take them to the Throne Room and boldly have a talk with Jesus about them all. The Throne is a Throne of Grace, and my friend, God’s grace is sufficient for you.

Then the seventy returned with joy, saying, Lord, even the demons are subject to us in Your name. And He said to them, "I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
