This book is written in honour of my late mother, Pastor Catherine Oboh Idusuyi, a devout Christian with a golden heart, a lover of people everywhere and a true servant of God. She gave her all for the Body of Christ, an anointed song minister and the first pastor of RCCG Dominion International Center in Brooklyn, NY. She was a faithful minister with an infectious smile and a loving embrace. Always giving, never tired of helping anyone that needed help. She was as good as they come, always willing to forgive. She was deeply committed to the work of sharing the gospel of Christ. She passed on to glory in the line of duty while driving to a church conference in the State of New Jersey in 2015. She is a hero who lived a rich impactful life, she gave all for the Christian Faith. Like God’s prophet Elisha, she left her secular endeavor convicted by God to become a full time minister of the gospel. Adieu Mummy Catherine, keep resting in the bosom of the Lord till we meet again.

INTRODUCTION

The word of God is powerful, sharper than any double-edged sword. The word is God’s gift to mankind, it sustains life. Systems and society might fail but God’s Word remains constant and indestructible. His word gives insight and points one in the direction in which to go. It gives light amid the world’s darkness and despair. The world’s science, engineering, medicine and finance all rest on the monstrous pillars of God’s Word. Jesus Christ, the Son of God and the Savior of the world is the Word the Bible says (John 1:1). He was there before the world was formed. The sure way to apply new life to anything anyone is doing is by harnessing the power in the word of God. One can deploy it to revive a sick organ, restore a strained relationship, resurrect a failing business, or help with breaking that harmful addiction. When in doubt, seek answers from God’s Word. A continual reading and practice of God’s Word helps us believers reflect God’s glory. The Word of God is a life changer, it is more valuable than gold. It shatters yokes and breaks in pieces evil fetters. The only way to wrestle power from satanic forces is by using the name of Jesus in prayer and deploying the word of God. The only way to discover and possess all that God has freely given us is by rehearsing and living the word of God. No wonder Jesus Christ said, I am the way, the truth and the life (John 14:6). The apostle of God, Paul spoke to the elders of the church of Ephesus telling them that through the Word of grace they will be built up and have an uncommon inheritance.

Acts 20:32 KJV

And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified.

A GOOD NAME

Proverbs 22:1 KJV

[1] A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches, and loving favour rather than silver and gold.

The Almighty God admonishes us through His word to strive to have a good name. A good name is built with integrity over a long time, it requires conscious effort on one’s part. If one isn’t careful, a good name could be marred in a matter of seconds. A good name is guaranteed by maintaining one’s integrity. We live in a world where majority of people have compromised good values and lack integrity. As believers we should always stand for what is right by God’s standards and should always work to protect our good name. Stand for the truth whatever the cost, it pays. Our God, the Lord Almighty has no variableness, He remains the same through all seasons.

James 1:17 KJV

[17] Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.

In Him, there is no shadow of turning the Bible says. God says what He means and means what He says. He is a God of proven integrity. God wants us to be the same way. We should never condescend to becoming flip floppers. In certain cases, one might suffer persecution as a result, but one will harvest great rewards in the long run if one is able to remain on the path of righteousness and truth. Ask for special grace today to stand for righteousness all the time. May God bless you richly.

A LARGE HEART

1 Kings 4:29 KJV

[29] And God gave Solomon wisdom and understanding exceeding much, and largeness of heart, even as the sand that is on the sea shore.

Largeness of heart is what enables one to give generously and care so passionately. Many people, both rich and poor gathered in the palace of King Solomon to feast daily. A giving heart never really holds back but always looks for opportunities to be a blessing. God’s expectation for us is that we not only be blessed but should always be a conduit of blessing. How much do you extend to others, how much do you give as you go through your life’s routine? Abraham entertained strangers and encountered the living God, the Shunammite woman in 2 Kings 4 made a resting place for God’s prophet, Elisha and she received a child from God in return. If one has a challenge in the area of giving, it is important to ask God for a large heart. I pray that the Almighty God will
