Discernment is recognition of facts by observation or reflection during specific periods of time or seasons in our lives. After discerning the facts during a period of time in our life, we must determine based on those facts if we are moving forward in our development in Christ.

Introduction

Blessed be the name of God for ever and ever, for wisdom and might are His. And he changes times and seasons; He removes kings and set up kings; He gives wisdom unto the wise; and knowledge to them that know understanding.

(Daniel 2:20–21)

The intent of this work is to communicate to Believers, the need to gain an accurate and deep intuitive understanding of their journey as a Believer in Christ. As Daniel states, God gives wisdom unto the wise and knowledge to them that know understanding.

God sets up time and periods to support appointed occasions in our lives.

How do we recognize the indicators (good or bad) of our journey and how to follow the order of things God has set before us? God will reveal to you the paths to dwell in and show you the impacts the leaders of the world have as you gain knowledge of Him, then you will know understanding. How does this relate to God’s purpose for those who believe?

To know God’s purpose for the Believer, you must understand the changing of the season in your life that has been established (set in place), which communicates to your position in Christ. Are you able to discern where you are in your spiritual walk and the true possibilities available in Christ?

The principle thing is to seek God for wisdom to gain understanding of how to progress in our newfound life.

God’s people are hindered from obtaining the benefits of a new life because of a lack of knowledge; we lack knowledge because we fail to study God’s Word and at times, and we reject the knowledge provided from God through His Word and commandments.

When we learn to fear and reverence the Lord, through seeking His will, then we will be able to render a verdict of what period of time we are in, relating to the history and destiny of man as laid out in the Bible and the season of time in our individual lives we are in relating to our growth and relationship to God through Christ.

Yea, if thou criest after knowledge, and liftest up thy voice for understanding;

If thou seek her as silver, and searchest for her as for hid treasures;

Then shalt thou understand the fear of the Lord, and find the knowledge of God.

For the Lord giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding.

He layeth up sound wisdom for the righteous: he is a buckler to them that walk uprightly.

He keepeth the paths of judgment, and preserveth the way of his saints.

Then shalt thou understand righteousness, and judgment, and equity; yea, every good path.

(Proverbs 2:3–9)

I invite you to read all the scriptures referenced in this work. It will give you a greater insight into the thoughts relating to what you read and most of all it gives the Holy Ghost the chance to work as it interacts with the inner man by the Spirit of God.

Prologue

Our basic premise for this work is formed from the temptation of Jesus after being led of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil.

Then was Jesus led up of the spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil. And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward a hungered.

(Matthew 4:1–2)

This illustrates the battle to understand the influence of temptation in our lives and the possibility of falling to the wiles of temptation and erroneous beliefs.

A reoccurring theme in the life of a Believer is this cycle of test, decision, then result, revealed in the devil’s temptation of Jesus.

Our goal is to discuss a few key insights to help Believers as they progress along the journey of becoming a new creature in Christ.

Understand Jesus had just been baptized and beginning His walk in the call for His life. Just as we after accepting Christ began our walk.

I pray the majority of the results from your decisions line up with God’s will as you move through the different phases of your growth process.

The ministry of Christ begins in Matthew 3:16. Luke gives more detail of the baptism; he said, The Holy Ghost descended in a bodily shape like a dove upon Jesus (Luke 3:22). Filling and covering every part of Christ mind, body, and soul. Just as Jesus begun His ministry and then fulfilling His destiny upon the cross. How do we determine what is our destiny? Has the Holy Ghost descended on you as in Acts 2:1–4? What is your relationship with God right now? Do you know what season of our life you are in and how are the current spiritual influences impacting you?

Consider each insight presented in this writing; does it provide a true representation of where you are along the road of your development and destiny?
