Lenard Anthony Gant Jr. – better known as LJGold – was born July 17, 1993. The acronym LJ stands for "Lenard Jr", and the word Gold stands for his representation in society, as someone who has an abundance of wisdom, and with a mission to provide his knowledge to those who are less fortunate. "Knowledge is wisdom, and wisdom is gold" - says LJGold. He was raised by his two loving parents, Lenard Gant Sr and Laverne Ferguson-Gant in Oakland California along with 4 older sisters. Growing up, his passion had been basketball and football; his Lockwood Elementary School team took the second-place trophy in the Eastlake YMCA Winter Basketball League. At 11 years old, he discovered his musical talent of performing and songwriting. In the Spring of 2005, after performing at a talent show at Havenscourt Middle School, LJGold concluded that he wanted to pursue a career as a musician. He began performing at school talent shows as well as youth centers and other events and venues around California. His music expressed his feelings and opinions towards the direction of society, as well as inspiring the youth to never give up on their dreams. A year after finishing high school, he spent his time traveling to schools in California, giving the students free concerts. The tour made a huge impact on many kids lives, inspiring them to pursue their passions no matter their age, and to never give up. Unfortunately, the touring ended due to lack of funds, which led LJGold into writing a self-help book dedicated to those who are in search for their inner happiness.

PREFACE
Dear Reader,
Thank you for taking this moment to enter my mind. This book carries my philosophy on life. I am Ljgold. I’m an entrepreneur who does motivational speaking. I started off in the industry as a professional recording artist when I was 12 years old. I was performing motivational music at stadiums, events, and other venues in California. When I was 19, I got offered to tour high schools and middle schools, giving students concerts during lunchtime as well as special assemblies. I’ve successfully traveled over 30 schools in California, making a positive impact on many kids’ lives.
The performances have inspired many students to pursue their career goals, which led me to venture into motivational speaking. Due to lack of finances, the tour ended earlier than expected. My goal is to one day take my motivational speaking on a larger scale and give people around the world my message of inspiration and motivation. I feel this book is a big step in helping me get my message out to those in need. I hope it helps you in your current situation, and if not, please share this book with someone who needs to hear the message and guidelines I express in this book on becoming a happy person in today’s society.

ACKNOWLEDGMENTS
F irst and foremost, I would like to take this moment to thank God for blessing me with the knowledge to help those who are less fortunate. My parents, Lenard Gant Sr and Laverne Ferguson, have been amazing to me and I’m thankful to have them in my life. They have kept me safe and taken good care of me. They are everything to me, and I love them with all of my heart. I’m so thankful to have my nieces and nephews Phaith, Leairah, Donovan, Jahmari, Jordyn, and Phillip, as they give me another purpose on this earth. I wasn’t someone who had a huge group of friends, because I felt, that I didn’t need it. I only needed a small positive circle of friends around me. My friends were Tré Adams, Tony Walls, and Kelly Smith. They were there for me through my ups and downs and had been a part of many experiences in my life that led me to learn so much about myself and life in general.
Also, I’m still friends with great people that I’ve met in elementary school who know so much about me and have experienced most of my life with me. Nathaniel Williams and Ronell Johnson, even though we don’t communicate as much as we used to when we were kids, we always have a way of connecting again, and I’m thankful that we have a bond to where we could find a way to connect with each other no matter what. I thank the new friends I’ve made along the way, Raven Malone, and Malik Page. I was experiencing a tough time with my first heartbreak, and you both spent time out of your lives to be there with me as friends through that hard aspect of my life and helped me grow through that, and I will never forget it.
In addition, I thank my sisters Lynetta Morgan, Lenee Mitchell, and Erica Ferguson for being there when I needed them during my tough times and for helping
