Description

Happy Thanksgiving! Feeling and expressing gratitude should not be reserved for a single day once a year. It should be an integral part of who you are, something that oozes out of your DNA without you being consciously aware of it. Being a thankful person will also make you more successful in every area of your life. If you are not a naturally thankful person, with practice, you can train yourself to be one. I know because I did it in my life. Listen as I say THANK YOU to all of you!

LIAM 19 - Happiness is directly linked to Thankfulness

Thanksgiving Day should be Every Day!

Thanksgiving should not be a holiday, it should be a lifestyle
It is for me and my life is completely different because of it
I am so thankful just to be alive this year!

It's not that successful people are thankful, it is thankful people who are successful!

I'm writing a book about Personal Branding and this is one of the most important chapters

There are very practical, self-serving reasons you should feel and express thankfulness for everything

First, it makes you a more pleasant person to be around

Do you like be around consistently negative, grumpy, cynical, ungrateful people? NO
If that's you, you are harming yourself because you are repelling from you people and opportunities for success

I believe in the Law of Attraction -- we attract into our lives what we are, feel, and expect from life
Your reticular activating system (RAS)

The filter through which your conscious mind experiences reality
It allows into consciousness the data you need, want, expect
New car, a particular song, new jewelry or dress, a pet, etc.
World-views, politics--we hear and see what we are expecting to see
Bad/Good service in restaurants
Good/Bad in other people

Practicing gratitude opens up your RAS to more things to be grateful for

The good things have always been there, you just didn't pay attention to them
There are good traits in people you dislike, you just don't see them because you don't want to
Gratitude opens up your eyes and you see life through a different filter

By exercising your "gratitude muscle" you become stronger, more capable of weathering hard circumstance/people

My cancer is a great example - it didn't knock me completely out of the game

By looking for things to be grateful for, you will see good things and opportunities that were there all along, but you passed them by. You will become more successful because you will be open to success coming into your life.

Gratitude journal

Every day, write down everything you are grateful for
It will become habit and you will discover a new way of living.

Be grateful if for no other reason than you are Filled with Greatness! Your body, brain, personality, things you can do, think, say, feel, are all great cause for gratitude!
Dealing with family over Holidays:

Have boundaries, but not walls!
Don't take anything personally
Don't make assumptions
Practice forgiveness
