    Dedication

To Almighty, my family and friends, youth and all the parents.

    Preface

I always feel so bad, and frustrated when youth make certain wrong decisions in their life, as they failed in their career or they failed to make their love story and what not! They then enter heavy depression, find nothing, and sometimes commit suicide.

Because of having too much anger, they hurt themselves or others or their family members. Embarrassing others by stupid acts, really lead to nothing. I am feeling very ashamed for all these people.

    What is all this nonsense?

Please stop these for god’s sake, please!

Neither do you have a right to hurt someone nor yourself with any wrong decision.

Yeah, it hurts a lot when you fail, when you lose something. I can very well relate and understand that.

Loving everyone innocently and selflessly will lead you to such a high that always keeps you motivated. And that’s so true.

But what if something did not appear as we wanted?

What if our fate did not knock on the door?

What if we failed to make our career and always land in a hot soup?

What if he/she move ahead in their life and marry someone else?

    Then what? Any answers, guys?

And now I want to ask you something.

Why do not we want to face the real challenges during our career?

Why are we unable to tolerate his/her happiness once they get married to someone?

Why are we insecure and uncomfortable with his/her decisions?

Why do we want to take the revenge from him/her?

Why do we want to poke him/her continuously and disturb their personal life?

Why do we want to move away and don’t want to face the challenges of our life?

And I am sure most of our youth don’t have any answers to these questions and without even giving a second thought, most of them make certain wrong decisions, they should not have!

Let me ask you something genuinely.

Have we put enough of our efforts?

Have we tried all the options?

Do we still really love and care for them?

Are we really living for their happiness as we used to?

Did we ever really love them truly?

Ask yourself, guys, and I am sure, you will get the answers deep inside your heart.

    Introduction

This novel is a selfless help towards those demotivated youngsters, who, most of the time, do not think life’s other side, which is very beautiful.

I have written this personal life’s experiences positively just to motivate them, to stop them taking the wrong steps because of the failures; to stop them from becoming depressed, and disappointed from their life; to stop them to feel embarrassed and guilty for themselves, for their family, for this society, and for every individual with whom they are connected.

I can very well relate that pain as my family has truly sacrificed their life and borne my silence during my very high depression time. I was not at all behaving well, not talking too much. Most of the time, silent! But still, they all were taking care of me every moment, where I was so sick, was unable to understand their innocent feelings and help towards me. Unnecessarily, was getting frustrated and sometimes was shouting them very badly with no reason as I was feeling so embarrassed and guilty for myself and for my family because of my failure.

But then I have made my mind up, came out from my heavy depression and started filling the colours in this true Insiprational novel. Many times, I have quit from further writing and sharing their personal experiences as I was getting more emotional.

I was spending half of my daily time in office work while the rest of the time in the creation of this book. I have dedicated my whole time for writing this book and that became the only and most important task then, eventually that brought out author in me which I have never realized.

I have not written this script to hurt anyone, to play with anyone’s emotions or sentiments, to gain fame or publicity, or to generate business or revenue. I do not want to promote anything against our society, our culture, our religion, and our moral values, so please keep me away from all these things.

Rather cursing others, this society, and system and feeling guilty for what one did, we should always try to understand the real challenges of our life, learn something positive out of it, try to improve it, try to help others, and give them a smile wholeheartedly. We should always be supportive and proceed further in life.

That is why I always feel, The show must go on!, Chalti ka naam zindagi

    Okay, then, here we go.

This entire real-life innocent Novel series revolves around my best buddy—kind, humble, true, selfless, and innocent, ‘Nishaan’ and a beautiful dream angel—a fairy. She’s sweet and innocent, everyone’s desire. She’s soft-spoken and soft-hearted girl ‘Shikha’.

#MyLifeLine – [Part I: Hope Keeps Alive], is all about Nishaan’s struggling journey from his college days to corporate world. His selfless efforts to motivate and help everyone wholeheartedly during their heavy depression. His great financial support towards his family, going away from them. Shikha’s first glimpses and his wholehearted love and care for her. Their first meet up and many more.

Yeah, I took a deep breath while writing their names and, in fact, every moment whenever they appear in my thoughts.

God, I have never met such people before in my life.

I feel so proud and lucky, I have spent few moments with them and experienced their life.

I don’t know what I will get or lose out of all this, but I am sure it would be helpful for others.

I am sorry for getting emotional and low here, but this real-life, innocent story really encouraged me and touched my soul. And that is why I am here to share with you all those true, innocent moments and will try my level best to give justice to it with my understanding and my thoughts in simple English, simple statements and grammar, without heavy vocabs and jargons to avoid the language barrier, to maintain the simplicity throughout, and to spread my thoughts to every individual.

I am always inspired and keep motivating myself and will always admire and give respect to this gujarati thought:

આદર્શ મા વ્યર્થ બનેલુ આપણું જીવન, બીજાને માટે આદર્શ બની જાય છેે [Aadarsh ma vyarth banelu aapnu jeevan, bijane maate Aadarsh bani jaay chhe]. It means a life lived in idealism that feels worthless often becomes an idol for someone’s life.

    Interview Day

Everyone was busy. Meetings were going on. Another working day was about to an end. The manager got up from his seat and stopped at Sudhir’s desk. So, Sudhir, how is it going?

Will need one more day to finish this task, got stuck, was Sudhir’s frustrated response.

Oh, but are you sure you can finish it by tomorrow?

Maybe, as I still need to understand this logic. Sudhir was confused. The manager added, Okay, then take Nishaan’s help. I know, he must be very busy, but I am sure, he will help you.

Sure, sir, let me talk to Nishaan. Sudhir relaxed as he found some ray of hope.

But where is Nishaan? He is not around. Has he left for the day?

No, sir. He was on the call before and then left for a meeting.

Oh yeah. Today he has his technical interview for Onsite Opportunity at USA. So, he must be busy in its preparation. But, Sudhir, make sure you meet him after his Interview and get this problem resolved.

Okay, let me convey him before his interview starts. And with that, Sudhir walked towards the conference room, reached and slowly opened the door. The entire room was empty and dark. He was about to leave but suddenly he saw one ray of light, like a flashlight.

Nishaan just turned up his laptop flap. He was in deep thought, murmuring. Sudhir thought not to disturb him and started leaving but then he heard, Hey, Sudhir. Were you looking for me?

Yeah, sorry to disturb you. And he felt very bad.

Please, don’t feel so. My interview is not started yet. By the way, how’s your work going on? Are you progressing with that? Meanwhile, Nishaan totally forgot his interview.

Nishaan, actually I came here for that only, but no worries. We can discuss that later.

Sure, Sudhir, don’t worry. Will sit after this Interview and resolve it, his total support. Yeah, you please carry on. See you later. Thanks, Nishaan. Nishaan smiled. You’re welcome, Sudhir.

Nishaan was very active multitasking person who was always used to manage multiple things quietly and peacefully. Manager always used to admire and appreciate his selfless helping nature.

Sudhir then left and again silence spread everywhere. Nishaan resumed and started playing with pen. Its ticking sound was clearly audible. The paper’s rusty noise was also adding further dramatic voice, making it more serious. Nishaan was turning notebook’s pages back and forth.

Suddenly, the conference room polycom rang. He settled and a voice heard. Hello, Nishaan?

    Hello, his very nervours response.

Hi, I am Vilas. Good evening.

Oh, hi, Vilas, good eve— oh, sorry, good morning.

    So, how are you?

Yeah, I am good. Per your suggestions and the reference documents, I have prepared most of the things for this interview. I have gone through my résumé and previous projects.

Sounds great, Nishaan. So, I hope you are all set for this interview now?

Though he was little nervous, but replied confidently, Yeah, Vilas, I am ready.

Okay, nice. So, ‘Travis Frederick’ would join this conference in a couple of minutes. A little later, There he is. He joined, Nishaan. All the very best. And both were then waiting for his voice.

Silence was broken as one beep was heard, and finally Travis joined the conference.

Hello, good morning, Vilas. An American accent voice heard.

Hello, Travis. Good morning. How are you?

I am good. Thank you. How is it going?

Yeah, going good. So, Travis, let me introduce Nishaan. He joined from Mumbai, India.

Good evening Nishaan. How are you doing today?

Good morning Travis. Yeah, doing well so far. Nishaan’s confident response.

    Good. Nice to hear that.

Okay, Travis, I am passing conference ball to you. You both are good to go.

Sure, Vilas, thanks. So, Nishaan, tell me something about yourself. Your work experiences.

Yeah, I brought up here in Mumbai, completed my all academics from Mumbai University. I am working in this company since past four years after my engineering graduation. He paused.

Nice to hear that you are a local. So, you must be staying with your family there, right?

Yes, I am staying with my parents.

Great. Well, Nishaan, I am sure you are aware about the work profile here.

Yeah, Travis, I understood but not much in detail, he firmly answered.

Not a problem, Nishaan. Looking at your profile, you have very good knowledge of firmware/software development and design, while expected would be more towards software support, verifications.

Yeah, Travis, I agree. But as a developer, we have to validate the functionality on a system level.

Good, so what are all the different types of testing do you guys perform to validate the system?

It starts with the Unit testing then Integration testing and finally system testing of entire product.

Okay I see. He was analyzing something from Nishaan’s answer, was expecting something more. Interview was going on. Later he asked one typical core question.

How often do you use LAB equipment’s? I mean, do you spend time in the LAB? While Nishaan saw Vilas’s message on his office communicator. He was suggesting Nishaan to share LAB experience in detail. Nishaan recalled his school days exam halls for getting such kind of help from teachers for bright students. He laughed himself and immediately started answering Travis.

Well, generally I spend most of my time in the LAB. As from development phase onwards, we require to validate our desk build features more often with the system/hardware. Moerover, I have used most of the LAB equipment during product validation, testing and debugging issues. His little exaggerated response just to mitigate that requirement.

Again, Vilas has sent message. Nice kick Nishaan. Great reply. Probably he was looking for your LAB utilization and awareness. Though Nishaan did not like to appear that way but then for the business opportunity he tweaked. Nishaan then quickly replied, Oh okay. Thanks.

Well Nishaan. I am done with my part. Vilas, do you want to add anything here?

    No Travis. I am good.

Okay. Sounds great. I have received enough information from you Nishaan. It was very nice talking with you. Thanks for your time and have a wonderful day ahead.

Same here Travis. Thanks, and have a wonderful day ahead.

Thanks, guys. Thanks, everyone. And finally, conference call ended. Beep … beep … beep and suddenly, silence everywhere again.

He then closed the Laptop flap, leaned on his chair and closed his eyes. Thoughts started bombarding deep inside. He took a deep breathe, a sigh of great relief. He was not worrying for the results like others. Rather he started thinking of some past glimpses. Beautiful incidences.

His eyes were closed but that cute smile was coming out of his face. Nishaan has started thinking of his all previous interviews.

Hhhssshhh And Nishaan started flowing in his dream of wonderland. Silence got spread everywhere.

    Small Helping Hands

The situation was worse. Nishaan’s financial condition was very weak and he decided to appear for a job interview through on-campus during his diploma college as engineering graduation was far away.

News was spreading about the process of the big multinational companies (MNC) . Students were discussing. Training and Placement Officer (TPO) and professors were busy scheduling and planning the activities. Staff boys were attaching the circulars on the notice boards.

Varun checked one of the notice board while Nishaan was drinking water and was looking outside from second-floor balcony corridor. Varun then saw him and rushed there. Hey, Nishaan, where were you, buddy? I was looking for you in our lab, but you were missing.

When? Are you talking about our Digital Communication practicals?, Yeah, Varun asserted.

I was there only. Oh, wait. Yeah, in between, I went to the library to collect few books.

See, I was right. But then which book, man? This is not fair, Nishaan. You went alone. You didn’t even inform any one of us in our group. Varun was disappointed.

Arey, I went to take DCOM book for our practicals. Moreover, I did inform Shramik. Didn’t he tell you?

    No, he didn’t.

Oh god, Shramik, such a sick guy. He forgot and galore of misunderstanding.

Okay. Forget about it, yaar. But have you noticed something? he curiously asked Nishaan.

What? Nishaan was clueless. Arey, everyone is talking about on-campus recruitments. Circulars are also attached on the notice boards. Meetings are going on between professors and TPO.

Oh! That is the reason. Now I understood. I was wondering in the library as one group came. Mechanical, I guess. They were talking about interview preparation. I got confused and didn’t get their context. But now it’s clear. So, when are they coming? Arey, man, I don’t know anything about the interview and all. Need to gear up. Nishaan was worried.

Yeah, Nishaan. Even I am totally blank now. Don’t know what to do. Varun was also nervous.

I know, it is first time for us. Let us collect details and prepare. We need to plan it properly.

Yeah, Nishaan. Let’s start it, yaar. I need this job badly.

Even me too, dear. Both were tensed and worried about their poor financial conditions.

Their lecture was going on. Though Nishaan was physically present but his mind was already in interview planning. He was thinking of getting some help. He was aware about his groupmates dependency on him which he should nail down by any means. Immediately, one spark came and he jiggled.

Ma’am asked in between, Do you want to say anything, Nishaan? Nishaan got confused, and with embarrassment, he said No. No, ma’am. Nothing. He felt very bad for disturbing the ongoing class. Sorry, ma’am. He settled and started concentrating on the lecture.

Ten minutes left. Every minute, every second—in fact, every moment—was passing like a long year. He was helpless. But finally, that announcement heard, Okay, students, that is it for the day. See you tomorrow for next lecture.

Nishaan immediately stood up, jumped off the bench, and walked out the room. He was so quick as if he was waiting for that moment all his life. Hey, Nishaan, where are you heading? Wait, I am coming.

Nishaan ignored Varun and went to see his seniors in the lab. He entered.
