About this ebook

It is my prayer that this book will assist couples in seeing their marriage from a divine perspective. Even though the book is written from a Christian biblical perspective, the principles and axioms it presents are applicable to all traditional marriages. Understanding that in spite of the brokenness we bring as individuals to our marriage, Gods plan for marriage, in all its splendor, still unfolds as it should when we humble ourselves, submit to him, and stay obedient to his directives.
When the couple places their marriage on the solid ground of Gods Word, everything built upon that foundations has the strength to enjoy and endure the ebbs and flows of this life. We become unafraid of being transparent and enjoying the fullness of another persons love and care. We no longer settle for a fifty-fifty, meet-in-the-middle relationship. We give allrecognizing and accepting that from time to time, we and our spouse will fall short. In other words, we will need to be treated like and act as a neighbor.

    Preface

Twenty five plus years of marriage and Pat and I are enjoying one another like never before. I have been infatuated with Pat from the first time I saw her in the bubble a gym/work out facility provided by a previous employer. Her legs would make Tina Turner stop and give her nod of approval, her hair was silky black and lips big and succulent. She was what I had pictured in my head and all of my biology was responding. After a few dates we found that we had much in common. We had both once belonged to the Nation of Islam and continued many of the disciplines we had learned from that experience. We both liked to dance. She was good, I was real good. I was a quasi intellectual and she listened. She seemed to be interested in the things I was interested in and that was enough for me. I did not spend any of my energy searching her heart of hearts.
