PREFACE
I have found that life’s deepest meaning is not found in accomplishments, not found in material things, but in good healthy relationships. We can feel proud of our accomplishments, but our accomplishments have less meaning when we are not able to share them with others. Relationships enrich our l ives.
As I began to write this book, I realized that I had to allow life experiences—as well as the power of the anointing—to lead and guide me in delivering truth through the Word of God.
We defined relationships as the quality of the connections, so we searched the scriptures to tell us what we are supposed to be connected to, who we are supposed to be connected to, and what happens when we become disconnected. We talked about how relationships are a matter of the heart.
Jeremiah told us that our heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. We found out that when the Bible used heart, it meant the immaterial part of man or the five faculties of the heart. That means that our mind, our will, our emotion, our conscience, and our memory are deceitful above all things and beyond cure… and that this is the true state of our personality. But Romans 5:5 and 2 Corinthians 1:22 lets us know that we can have hope because the love of God has been shed abroad in our hearts by way of the Holy Ghost who has been sealed in our heart; that means that the love of God has been shed abroad in our minds, our will, our emotion, our conscience, and our memory. We found that we have to make a choice to follow the Spirit’s leading in our minds, our will, our emotion, our conscience, and our memory or follow our fallen mind, will, emotion, conscience, and memory that is deceitful above all things and beyond cure, which is our fallen nature. So do we follow our flesh, our fallen nature, or do we follow God the Holy Spirit, our higher nature?
A Work of Submission
In Deuteronomy 4:30–31, we read: When you are in distress, and all these things come upon you in the latter days, when you turn to the Lord your God and obey his voice for the Lord your God is a merciful God, he will not forsake you nor destroy you, nor forget the covenant of your fathers which he swore to them.
The prophetic call in this book will not sugarcoat the truth. As a matter of fact, it may even step on some toes and make many uncomfortable. This book is based on the Word and is not intended to walk lightly on the subject of relationships. This is a Word from God for you to become genuine with God and yourselves. If your Spirit has been unraveled and your heart has been made heavy, then, it’s time to take your relationship to the next level.
We need to understand that just like we all need water—I need you, you need me, and we all need God!
I don’t have to convince you of the importance of your connection to water; I don’t have to convince you of the importance of your connection to this earth. But many of us have to be convinced about the importance of our connection to one another, and our connection to God. We have to get connected. We are not truly living an abundant life unless we are connected to God and to man.
Complete Awareness
This book will give you guidance, encouragement, and information to maintain strong relationships in your life.
As you digest this information, God will reveal something fresh and new on the inside of you. You must receive and cling to this Word of God. You will be guided, enlightened, and ultimately blessed. You will also be strengthened in nurturing lasting relationships.
What if you knew in your heart that one day you would meet that right woman or man to marry, but you hadn’t met them yet. It would be so easy to go out and try to meet the right person by your own actions, but where is the security in that?
