Jondrea participates in the Alexandria Museum of Arts Spoken Word Poetry Series: Rhythm and Rhymes. I have had the opportunity to review some of the works presented in this book, and this poet explores painful experiences and struggles, just as many artists using this form. These works work through the struggle to find a positive and hopeful slant. When I read and listen to these works, I feel good about the future even as I struggle with the past and in the present. This a message we should all work to bring to our communities as we seek to understand each other and create a shared future of equality for all.

Jondrea Nicole

Jondrea Nicole has lived in Southeast Texas where she earned mastery in the area of TAAS for writing proficiency as a student at Jasper High School. She is a follower of Jesus, native of Louisiana, court appointed special advocate, “at-risk” youth speaker and graduate of Louisiana State University at Alexandria. “Breath of Liberty” explores triumph, perseverance, failures, heartache, relationships and love. Composed of poetry, prose, short stories and quotes; it is her first literary art form and merely an appetizer of written works to follow.
