CATS
Cats galore
We adore
Their furry little faces.
They love
And purr
And hide in all the spaces.
Together we make
A happy home
Even though the kittens roam.
Sometimes they’re out
Sometimes they’re in
But always have love of kin
Not only
Do they
Love so freely
They eat,
They sleep
And are not too needy.
Don’t stray from home
I’ll miss you so
Return to home
Before the snow
AFTERNOON
It’s afternoon and here I am a poem about to write
My son-in-law thinks all I do is play solitaire till night
Well today it’s been a busy day and no time left unspent
I even had a family with a life changing event.
I had my lunch then went upstairs to get a paper signed
The person was not awake, she’s on the big decline
The nurses weren’t too busy, they all look good today
And to spruce up the nurse’s station, someone left a big bouquet.
I want to mow my lawn today when I get home from work
I also need to get some groceries before we go berserk
Toilet paper, laundry soap and tissues we do need
But mainly we need some food as the troop I need to feed.
I am so very sleepy, my eyes just want to close
I’m afraid if I sit still too long, on the desk will rest my nose.
So here I go to stretch my legs, get some air and take a walk
I look at all there is to see I guess I’m like a hawk.
HUNTER’S MOON
Hunter’s Moon
– I never heard of it before, but hunting is tradition of long ago folklore.
To have a man so special leave us at this time
One can’t help but think ’twas God’s final rhyme.
For Dale was a great hunter, teacher, friend and guide,
Those who knew him well, knew he loved to be outside.
No time is ever right to lose one loved so dear
But when we see the moon and sky, we’ll know that you are near.
Your love and laughter will live on in our lives
And we will be ever thankful for one so wise
You touched the lives of hundreds over many years,
Now we ask God’s comfort as we shed our tears.
We know that you have gotten your final great reward,
No more pain, no more suffering for the man we adored.
Walk tall and straight,
