What a start to the year 2022 has been. With the pandemic still running rampant across the globe and the floods devastating much of the motherland, this year hasn’t really kicked off how I’d imagined — nor how we all deserved it to.

I’m not sure about you, but I feel like I’m constantly walking a tightrope. Life starts to resume; places begin opening up, I take my finger off pause. Bravely, I take a few steps forward. I am tantalised by the idea of life returning to “normal” by dining out at restaurants and grooving on a dance floor. It’s bliss, it’s beautiful. It’s fun!

But then my whole family catches COVID. I spend a week isolating with my baby, which leaves me feeling wobbly and close to falling
