My Courage to Hope

Within the tender of the moment between the softness of the way forces of nature awaiting birth buds of life awaken with the promise of a new day. Challenged misdirection cannot change tethered strings tugging my rope I am not enraged by this imbalance eagerly I embrace my courage to hope.

We Are the Music

We are the melodies of our lives

traversing the images of our souls,

embracing cherished memories of our hearts.

We listen to the sounds of our passions

absorbing the rhythms of blended compositions.

Every era, every moment of our lives

we remember our favorite musical overtures,

for we are moved by the musical score

touched by the words and notes together

creating a special bond to pursue, to dream, to escape

to hold, to love, to be loved, to let it be, and to let it go.

We become the person or persons, the entertainer,

the band, the groupie, the promoter, the audience.

We are all, we are one, we are the music

the d’yer mak’ers singing oh, oh, oh,

you don’t have to go oh, oh, oh.

We have experienced the shaking gyrations

in our own Love Shack

as well as the special interaction beyond

Paradise by the Dashboard Lights.

Hey Jude, Let It Go

after all there’s a whole lotta lovin Sailing away

and if the wind is right, we can sail away and find tranquility.

Tranquil and soothing music enriches the beauty of our life

and it encompasses an epic poem of love within our being.

Other than the black-and-whites images of the composition of notes,

we can see your True Colors and together we give love a bad name.

For we are part of the American scene, we are free

and just like Freebird, we wonder if I leave here tomorrow,

would you still remember me?

Last night we dreamed you were back again,

because we were on the outside, we were looking in.

Like two silhouettes whose shadows dance in the night,

we see a little silhouette of a man, scarmoush, scarmoush,

will we do the fandango…thunderbolt and lightning…

very frightening me Galileo, Galileo.

We understand the Bohemian Rhapsody and together

we bobble our heads forward when the crescendo peaks.

We become like Heart’s, Dog and Butterfly,

see the dog and butterfly, up in the air

he like to fly, dog and butterfly, below she had to try

We try to reason, to understand the meanings

but after listening, we forget the whys of understanding

because the music brings us home

home to our soulshine, it’s better than sunshine,

it’s better than moonshine, it’s sure damn better than rain.

Alas, ripples in still water where there is no pebble tossed

no wind to blow.

There, we are lost

on a painted sky, where the clouds are hung

for the poet’s eye

we may find Him, if we may find Him.

We can’t measure our love, we have nothing to compare it to,

after all not everyone asks the question,

shake for me girl, we wanna be your back door man?

Really, have you ever loved a woman?

Music is the accolade of our memories,

the melodies of our lives.

We feel the rhythms every day, every Weekend

it doesn’t matter if we’re decked out for the Twist,

strolling to the waltz,

or wearing a pair of pink sidewinders

and a bright orange pair of pants,

We become the music,

we are the music,

ever changing, yet constant

moving together, moving as one

sharing each other, sharing alone

we are karaoke singing for the breath of our essence

we are dreamers remembering The Times of Our Lives.

We are members of the same community

living within God’s grace

we celebrate the goodness of His word

together we believe in Him, touch His face.

We transcend beyond our boundaries

living within the sense of soul

we cherish our moments together.

We believe in God’s promise, our salvation and goal

we may speak differently

but only for the words we find.

We are within your presence sharing sound,

you are within our presence sharing sign.

We are one together

part of God’s divine love

we are all God’s creation,

we are all gifts of the dove.

Welcome Home

Within your sorrow, there is comfort

within your confusion, there is hope

within your emptiness, there is peace

within these walls, there is refuge.

God has delivered you to begin your new journey

to renew your being, to replenish your spirit.

You have chosen to rebuild to move forward,

to be better than before.

Within these walls, there is comfort

within this shelter, you are free

within this space, you are beautiful.

God is with
