About this ebook
This kite, I bear and guide.
Fine example of where I put my hope.
Riding the skies, ruling the gale.
Searching for someone
to deliver good mail.
Sailing the whirlwind,
looking, finding, hiding.
I light up as I see you.
I believe your face
is well worth looking for
the thawing flowers.
Oh, we talk for hours.
Author Timothy Green’s home is with his poems. They flow easily out of him, and he considers them to be precious and special, like he is himself. In My Sweet Aroma, he presents roughly two hundred poems gathered from one of his previous books, The Sail, the Face, along with seventy newly written verses.
Timothy Green
Interestingly expressive and captivating. I am gaining real confidence in my creations and I hope every home will have a copy. Well that’s the dream anyway.

A Beautiful Day
In many ways,
happy and unfazed,
got through the maze,
my babe’s celebration.
God’s own creation,
a nation of friends
with a love unending.
Away from all the pretence,
No more sitting on the fence.
A lady deserving
slightest signs of birthing.
Our castle, our home, our palace.
A Beautiful Mind
Foreseen, my lovely one,
courteous and fair,
caused a stir
whenever I am there,
my found hiding place.
Trying to erase me from memory,
task in the dark my face explained.
Foretold futures maimed as you see
but a loving hand drawn
across the pages I scratch,
a match for any talented soul.
From a place older than I,
Sauntered and directly brilliant,
bereft by those ways I miss.
A beautiful mind, many hours.
The same way we know
grassland will have its way,
nature will play its part
in regeneration of the heart.
A Day in the Life of Us
A calming and calmed soul,
ready to ride and roll.
Tomorrow not too far away.
For each night and every day,
pleasure, no pressure,
unmeasuring our measure.
A sound of silence and peace,
easing our way through life.
A joyful response,
faithful and true,
my life all settled
with my lady, my petal,
being moulded and grounded in Christ.
A Prayer for Our Brothers and Sisters in the Faith
However close or far away,
we pray for your safe return
to discern and turn to our Lord.
Free from the sword and bought
precious lives to defend,
families to stay bonded to each other.
The murderers change or fall by their anger or hate.
Weapons forged against us shall not prosper.
Lord, we ask for your provision
for our bodies, whether broken or dismembered;
fortune to follow us always,
Christians truly portrayed in
films and letters, records, and dates
to remember what was done
at no loss.
A Sign
Signing for me and you,
noticed moments gathered around.
Wear the crown all over town.
Sunset to sunrise, no fear found.
Bound not to sin and ready,
ready for action when need be.
Somehow collecting from the tree,
its leaves heal and feel.
Tenderly she goes until vanished.
Water replenished and finished.
Blessings to our bodies and souls,
harmony felt out of control.
Never fallen, we learn our lesson.
Glossy hair and feathers adorned.
Is this a sign from our Father, our Lord?
Rather be adored for softness
than be respected for leadership.
Learning from the best,
he beats the drum and sings.
Blossoms come slow and fast.
Not to worry about the past.
Sign of things to come about,
clouds are rolling, flocking, moving.
The earth is warm to smoulder.
We get older and bolder—
my race, my battle, my time.
A Soldier’s Finished Work
Judges and brings light.
Everywhere he goes brings
a sample of a song to sing.
A real soldier born of Christ
fathoms a payment not of gold.
Feeling his way through the woods,
he bursts into song along the river.
Wet and burly I found a way.
Waves wash us clear,
giving its taste to the love we need.
Breeding until the final curtain,
new generations of hope and wonder
began quietly under the sheets,
making his way to his home.
Retreating after a long break,
retirement looms; let’s all eat cake.
Freedom within freedom of sight.
I know how the world works.
Blind but having eyes to see,
Needing our reach,
easing those troubled minds.
A Thousand Days of Love
Searching to find a timeless wonder.
Pondering on our past affliction
made whole out of adoration,
past and present restoration.
Praise his name for retribution.
Musing and flowing ideas and ideals.
Kneeling down before him,
showing our humility,
touching and caressing our spirit.
The Holy One, no spot or blemish,
sent from heaven to complete his work,
came to us out of love.
Purposefully made clean again,
we stand in awe ahead of him.
Blessed we are as we cope with the hurts.
Blurting out words,
swords pierce like a lie.
Confusion and panic arise,
but our Saviour denies the reprise of evil.
Nurturing and searching our hearts,
healing and breathing our names.
Special we are as we are his saints,
beginning with life-giving blood.
Sins dismissed and forgotten,
our begotten Friend, Keeper, and Healer.
Ships tangle, but not our raft.
Seeking to keep her steady,
born of the sea to baptize.
Let’s see a massive reprise of Medway
as we turn our hearts to his way.
A Thousand Days
Time has no scale.
A day can be as a thousand
and a thousand as a day.
Lower our pride and begin to pray,
scoping for next pay.
Time is no commodity.
Searching the horizon—
out past the sea born to a mission—
in misery but hopeful.
Sessions for pay to say …
It’s what we are thinking.
Yearning for intimacy,
a plan made into fantasy,
man to see his work.
Makes sense when I think about it.
Strange as the day I was born
to a world that doesn’t know me.
Even the trees have to ask.
The task completed,
greet my Maker, our love, our Saviour.
Albatross
Rising for another day away,
floating through the air.
‘Dance’, I said. ‘Dance in the air.’
The albatross knows where to go.
Storms arise, rocks taking a blow.
Searching for food below.
Taking its share and learning some bits,
to the air it takes again.
The horizon looks close to them.
Searching for answers and a protector,
mentions changes of the night,
flighty figures in the background,
making little more than silence.
Eggs are safe at home.
Our bird, the albatross, lives on.
Reason and sense seem to go.
Looking after what, she doesn’t know.
Faith shown into the light.
No more storms, nights.
Freedom of peace is born.
An Unsolved Mystery
A glittering missus,
