A New Year
Like the sun peeking over the horizon,
A New Year is beginning to dawn,
An exciting new adventure,
With God into the unknown.
I never know what is ahead,
But I live one day at a time.
I know who holds the future,
He keeps my life in rhyme.
A beautiful, wonderful New Year,
Fresh as the falling dew,
Given for a new beginning,
Straight from heaven to you!
A Prayer
Oh God heal the memories,
And all the hurts that be,
Give a new tune to our song,
Let it ring clear and free.
Let us feel all the love,
It is possible to feel.
To not fear and to open our heart,
To a new life and get a fresh start.
Tear down the shutters and the blinds,
That has grown dusty with mold,
Open our heart and heal every scar,
From any old wound or thing that would mar!
May our life be the perfection you would have it to be.
You came to give Life and more abundantly
.
Let happiness and joy flood the soul.
We know you want to have full control.
Putting behind us all yester years,
And start a new life without any fears.
Knowing that you are at the helm of the ship,
That you will hold us and we will not slip.
Help us be kind – you love us so,
Let us be gentle as the breezes that blow.
We are yours – give us joy and love,
And all of your blessings that come from above!
Adieu
It is hard to say adieu,
After all the years we’ve been through.
One half of my life and more,
Has been waiting for your knock on the door!
Tonight the hoping is all over,
For you said another vow,
Like the one you promised me long ago,
My heart cries and says it isn’t so.
I can’t believe you’ve married another,
After all the years I’ve waited and hoped,
But surely somehow there is a purpose,
I wish I could see through God’s telescope.
Then maybe the future would be brighter,
Maybe my heart a little lighter,
What is the pattern He is weaving?
What is the purpose of your leaving?
I only know I feel half of me is gone,
And all by myself in this world I roam,
I cannot believe that it is real,
If only you could know the pain I feel!
Yesterday, today and tomorrow,
I must leave behind the sorrow,
And learn to close the door so tight,
That DAY will dawn - gone will be night!
This too shall pass!! His word is true,
The hurt is still real, the days are blue!!
There is one thing for sure I know,
That He is with me – He will be true!
He said I will never leave thee
Though through low valleys I trod,
His hand will keep and guide me,
As through this life I plod.
So the door I close on yesterday,
I don’t know about the future,
Only He can see around that bend!!
I will follow Him to the journey’s end!
Another Chance
I cling to the cross this day, Lord.
Remove every hindrance from the way
Of growing closer and closer to thee
Help me your way to clearly see!!!
Forgive me wondering and floundering around
That your work has not been enhanced.
I ask forgiveness for wonderings
And seek another chance.
Help me to hear you clearly
Your wonderful work to perform.
I know it is so important, Lord
Far above the norm!
I acknowledge MY carelessness, Lord
In letting other things get ahead of your plan.
Blinded by the joy and excitement of life,
Stepping out of your will, holding loosely your hand!
I am sure I heard your call Lord,
For the work on this earth to do,
Grant another opportunity,
Lord to finish your work,
and this duty
I never again will shirk.
From my heart I utter this plea,
I seek another chance Lord,
To help the world to see,
The glory of your presence
The gift you have for all,
Who will follow your will, Lord
And listen to your call.
April Breeze
An April breeze is blowing,
And in my heart I’m going
To the top of the hill to spend the day,
Where me and April breezes play!
My feet may be bound in the valley,
But my heart has taken flight,
To the very highest hilltop,
Where children fly their kite!
How I love the top of the hill,
Where the April Breezes blow!
It’s there I find the sweetest song,
When I leave the valley below!
Asleep In Jesus
She is asleep in Jesus,
Her labor on earth is o’er.
Now she is transplanted in heaven
To brighten that beautiful shore!
One more star has been added,
To shine around the throne!
Her body from earth is missing
But she is in her eternal home.
We so will miss her presence.
But one day before too long
We too will make that
