Mitzie McPherson

Mayah Mcpherson was born in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Blessed with a life of adventure at the age of five Mayah began to write. At first it was just a hobby but over the years she has grown a love and a passion for the subject. “Writing allows me to express my inner thoughts” quotes the young author. This book is a collection of poetry written by the eleven year old Mayah McPherson, sharing events of her life in the sequence of rhymes and her innermost thoughts through the words of a poem.

For the day when we met there were butterflies,

Blue skies and stars in my eyes

And you stayed

On our first date you were late

Dinner was great

You wanted to walk and talk

And I stayed

Now vows are said

Something about not parting until we are dead

Easier said than done

Everything changes when reality come

Knocking at the door

With the face of a bill collector

Saying no lights after four

And a baby cries in the middle of the night

When you have work in two hours

And I realize you no longer bring me flowers

And date night is a blockbuster movie

And leftovers

Memories of you have recently taunted me, haunted me

I see your face now everywhere I go

And I don’t know if you are real or just a dream

Because I can smell you

And I feel like I am touching you and this scares me

Could it be that you are my soulmate

That my soul has been separated from you for so long

And now it misses you

Is it too late to re-unite fate?

My heart lies hollow with a missing space
