    Introduction

Have you ever wondered how someone less talented surpasses someone who is much more talented in the race of life? Have you ever wondered why, in spite of knowing what we need to do to achieve our goals, we fail to do those things? How does a seemingly simple task of following a straight path to reach our destination feel so difficult? It all comes down to one thing: discipline or the lack of it.

Discipline is about doing the boring things in life. There’s nothing fancy or extraordinary about discipline. It isn’t as flashy or charismatic as motivation, but when the time comes to deliver, it is what helps you get the work done when motivation is nowhere in sight.

Discipline will get you whatever you want in life. Want to be a better writer? You got it. Want to earn more money? You don’t have to look any further. Want a better physique? (Don’t we all?) It’s yours to take. However, to achieve these things or anything else that you want or fancy in life, you need to do a few things that discipline demands of you, which many of us aren’t willing to do. In the grand scheme of things, it’s a small price to pay for the rewards that are in store for you.

Through my own experiences, I realized the power of discipline, as I saw my life turn around when I started being a more disciplined person. My life took a complete 360 the moment I started placing more value in discipline than in luck, motivation, or anything else, for that matter.

I want everyone to experience the tremendous power discipline has—to bring about positive changes in one’s life; that is the sole reason behind me writing this book.

    What’s in Store for You?

You can refer to this book as your friend or as a guide, and whenever you feel stuck or feel you can’t go ahead, come back to this book, and you’ll discover something new that will help you keep moving forward. The things you’ll find in this book are things that have resonated with me and have produced results for me. Along with my experiences, the book is filled with many other instances and examples that one would encounter when trying to be a disciplined person; through these examples, you’ll learn what to do and what not to do.

I hope that through this book, you’re able to inculcate habits and routines into your life that will help you achieve your goals; in that process, I hope to see you become a more disciplined person. Take some time to go through each of the chapters to read and reflect on the things mentioned, and then, give everything a try once before rejecting them.

Most of the things mentioned in this book are things I learned through trial and error, but you don’t have to spend that extra time looking
