About this ebook

Prose from a Soul Seeking Justice is a collection of poems written throughout the author's lifespan. Some of the poems remain unedited purposefully in order to honor the mindset and development of the author at the time the poems were written. The collection of poems range from those that will spark emotion to those that will soothe the mind. The topics addressed range from dealing with loss to assault to personal growth in one's sense of self. This text is also an extension of the "About the Author" section of the Essential Guide on How to be a Hoe.

    Middle and High School

    Sorrowful Sunday

    (unedited)

    Sunday:

You ventured to the hospice near Doctors Hospital

We were sad because you weren't doing so well

I cried as I watched as your chest rose and fell

You said you didn't want to see us cry so I went outside

There were others who also cried yet we were spiritually by your side

After hours of crying we began reminiscing about the past

Not know which minute will be your last

    Monday:

After school, We visited you once more

To see you awake filled my heart with joy

Until dark we listening to music and watching shows of your choice

Yet we would have been talking if you had your voice

    Tuesday:

Once again I visited you at the hospice

Still happy to see you as if being overwhelmed twice

Your mother was there your sisters too...

We enjoyed our time without a slight boo-hoo

    Wednesday:

We venture to see you in your room

Yet we had to wait because there was too many people visiting you

We waited awhile for people to leave
