Introduction
In my opinion poetry is one of the lost arts of writing. Our language placed with emotions, turned into words, and to finally be given a name, Poetry. Writing has been my outlet since 1997. It all started when a teacher of mine gave me a poetry assignment. She took the time to educate me about poetry and told me that grammar can not be placed on poetry. I’ve placed my secrets and dreams into my pieces of work. These are just my thoughts; moments where I wished to understand myself or others better.
Special thanks
To all those who supported me to continue writing and to my family who encouraged me to publish my book.
A Broken Moment
There is not enough for atonement,
And there is no fight in me, I am done.
So here’s to you, I confess you’ve won.
You have taken what little strength I had,
For I’m to blame and you’re still mad.
The annoyance of it bears some truth,
Sadly, it was confessed, not proved.
Hung my head in the shame of it all,
Have no satisfaction in watching me bawl.
I’ll quietly go into myself, my peace,
As I weep, may you feel complete.
Know what I say I mean with all my heart,
But our history has brought us apart.
Not a word or feeling could change it,
If this is not me hurting,
Guess you think? I could fake it . . .
glyph.jpgA Journey
Driving down a road,
Traveling from youth to old.
Sold so many memories,
Lost and found things along the way.
Moments with few words to say.
A day gain, another day lost,
Known truths that were false.
Age appears upon my flesh,
Are joys truths or am I blessed.
Watching it all gather around,
Questions or answers not yet found.
Walking on and through every day,
Another spirit passing the same way.
One life after another, that’s how it goes.
And those blissful joys we all know,
Hold them close for uncertainties follow.
Know we all reflect when we are so happy.
Hoping to uncover some type of clarity.
Into the roles which truth, could set us free,
These few moments in life I learned to believe.
glyph.jpgA Last Chance
My heart is falling to pieces,
Your words by no means releases,
The hold that you have upon me.
Know that I silently grieve,
Because I’m torn apart over you,
Asking myself what am I to do.
I can hear your heart breaking,
As you continue you’re demanding,
For the love that we once had.
Not all our times and love was bad.
Reminding me of what I once felt,
Very plea makes my walls melt.
You could not walk away you said,
We’ve been over for a time in my head.
The knowledge of being so different you see,
Reminds me of every forgiveness and chance,
For every try just seemed to fail like the last.
Letting me know that this was not your intent.
That now your decisions you so regret.
You asked me again and again to believe,
That our love will be different from those days.
Before every answer I take a moment to breathe,
You ask for chance and I’ve nothing to say.
glyph.jpgAll I know
Deeply kiss me and never let me go,
Make the world dissipate, till you’re all I know.
Look me in the eyes and tell me no lies,
Say that I’m yours and for the
