The Little Book Of Leadership Tips - Phil Merrick
How to use this handbook
Start from the beginning and read it in page number order or dip into the relevant section.
The sections are in the logical order of the Peoplemad Success Model:
Get the right mind-set, know what you’re trying to achieve and how you’re going to get there, get the right people with the right attitude, get the right people doing the right things, create an environment for success, build your capability to be the best you can be and get everyone behaving as leaders.
Each section is colour coded to help with navigation, as well as being an aid to remember the model and the leadership tips.
Use the Traffic Light Scoring System to mark yourself on how you think you score for each tip and make a brief note as to why you gave yourself that particular score and/or what action you intend to take.
If you need help with developing your skills in any of the areas identified then contact me at phil@peoplemad.com. I’d also welcome your feedback.
Hope you enjoy!
Simple Traffic Light Scoring System
The Traffic Light System is a quick and easy way to look at what needs doing and where you should focus your efforts. Detailed scoring systems with a greater range of values have their place but are not always necessary. If it needs attention, it needs attention.
Keep things simple.
For each leadership tip you have the option of using this system to assess yourself (and/or your team) by circling the number you think is right for you.
Remember - your gut feel is usually right!
The leadership tips are colour coded
