This Book was written to reflect on some of LIFE’S Journeys. Its content looks at how life throws you curves, and you learn where your strength comes from. There are a lot of things we must do to have a positive life. For me, a positive life includes the almighty! I hope some of the poems relate to some of your life’s journeys. Arthur K. Higgins III nicknamed (Pete) always had a love to write poems for special occasions. He started to write more poems after his illness. His poems are relating to his experience of being ill and life’s struggles. He worked as a professional Systems Engineer for 30 years. He is retired and lives in Marietta, Ga. VISIBLE MEMORIES is his writing debut. Arthur is married and has four children and eight grandchildren.

A Mother

A Mother is one that’s always around

When other people can’t be found

She’ll stand beside you like a tower

To teach and guide with Loving power

This wonderful Love that she knows best

Surrounds like an Eagle does its nest

So, if you’re fortunate to have such a dear

Treat her with extreme Loving care

For without her you’re often lost

Which for Me is much too high a cost

All About Me

Isn’t it amazing how one perceives

If he or she isn’t in our sleeves

We often judge without a clue

Not wanting to know what makes us do

The things that seem out of line

And not within what we call mine

It’s very hard for a lot of us

To let go of customs we feel are a must

For if we refuse to see within

Our judgment one day will be called a Sin

Let’s step up and do what GOD portrays

Loving one another; stop living this haze

Always On Top

Always on Top thought by many

If used the wrong way may be looked at as sinning

For some folks, egos get in their way,

Not allowing them to listen to what others say

This thought if focused on the right way

Can project respect from others this very day

Loving others if imposed in your mine

May help you maintain this thought as a positive sign

Helping out and giving back is what you must do

To keep this thought positive between others and you

Do we know what THANKS really means

Or is it used as a forest or screen

Is GIVING one-sided; something we want

Not willing to return; it’s not my fault

Our Lord and Savior is who we seek

To fulfill this word or allow its peak

Thank you, Lord Jesus, for all you give

Revealing this definition is truly real

With a response by many for what

As if that’s not enough

For we know the intent of the question

Knowing deep within what it’s asked for

Becoming defensive some do

Especially if it’s meant for you

Hoping its intended answer is yes
