Jasper Manning

I was born September 27, 1959 in Dallas Texas to Alice Faye Manning who soon after became a single parent of 3 children. 2 boys and a girl. After graduating from High School and working odd jobs here and there, I decided to join the United States Air Force in 1980. As a member of the USAF for 12 years and 8 years in the Texas Air National Guard, I was married to the 1st wife for 23 years where we finally divorced after have two son’s Jasper E. Manning II and Jaelen Earl Manning. Later I remarried Sophia L. Manning where I’ve been married for 6 years as of September 2, 2019. I am currently an educator and small business owner and have been writing for the past 27 years. I’ve been published before and have managed to amass a little over 800 poems that I would like to share with world based on our society, the negatives and the positives, love and drama, appreciation and religion. My motto in life is to “Live your life today, so that tomorrow you’re not ashamed of what you did yesterday.”, and like I try to empress upon my students and referees, always leave things better than you found them.

    Acknowledgement

1st, give praise and all honor to God, who I came to know at an early age. He was introduced to me by my mom Alice Faye Carter-Manning-Raye. My inspiration for this book comes from her as well as my son’s Jasper E. Manning II, Jaelen Earl Manning and wife Sophia Londe Manning. I’m also inspired by a host of other relatives for their love and the way in which they lived their lives. Sharing and demonstrating their wisdom, disciplines, traditions, loyalty and commitment to family that I’ve recalled or referenced at some point or another in the writings of this book.

    Inspiration:

Edwina Carter, Nathaniel Carter, Melvin Carter, Alice Fay Carter, Olin Ray Carter, Nathaniel Carter, Marie Carter, Phillip Earl Carter, Wank Tippens, Ruth Ann Tippens, Mariah Yarber, Anne Pearl Yarber, Socrates Yarber, Lovie Yarber, Johnnie Yarber, Maggie Mae Manning, Yuteen Manning, Woodrow Manning, Earnestine Manning, Neil Manning, Ora Mae Carter, Bessie Mae Carter, Juanita Carter, Bessie Mae Carter, Juanita Carter, Mack Earl Tippens, Anne Pearl Carter, Judy Tippens.

I hope that you’re blessed as much as I have been in your lives and your walk with GOD when reading some of the poems and the meanings behind them.

Enjoy and thanks for your support in trying to help me leave things better than I found them. Embrace the world and all that God has meant for it to be.

    Introduction

Our society has come to disregard the principals of civility over the course of my adult life which hasn’t been that long. Some of us have even forgotten the sacrifices needed to instill values in our children so that they may grow to be productive young adults and continue to nurture the seeds of life. I don’t have it all figured out, but I think that I’m on the right track. If I offend you then you’re the one this book was written for because you are part of the problem. If it doesn’t offend you then help me leave things better than we found them.

GOD’s grace may not be touching the lives of everyone yet, but he is still out present and available for all to embrace. It is hard to recognize and embrace GOD because of so many false prophets that choose to disrupt rather than deliver. I’m not prophet but God has been good to
