You are here for a reason. How I believe you master your life is to understand that you are co-creating your life with the ultimate creator. Not understanding this puts you at your own pitiful, meager little will and everything is left up to you. You cannot do it; you cannot survive in this world by yourself just believing in yourself. You are not big enough to do it alone, I am not big enough to do it, no one is big enough to do it alone. You have to understand that your very presence here as a human being on earth came from something greater than yourself and not just your parents who wanted to have a child, the fact that egg was hit by that particular sperm in that particular moment and you were created should blow you away. Wow – how amazing is that?
~ Oprah Winfrey
Foreword
Don’t dim my light! That was the warning Richard Seaman gave me as one of his employers here on earth several years ago. This affirmation was not in the least way said in a threatening or condescending manner; Richard was just very aware that his fulltime employer was God. Often without warning some amazing force would show up and come out his mouth . . . sometimes with grace, other times with real raw honesty. Before long it became increasingly obvious Richard was on loan as an employee to the college and that his real job was to be a spirit-directed pot-stirrer. He was in our employ to shake things up, do things a little differently and to prepare for his next assignment.
Richard has been very reliable in showing up to deeply touch the lives of many people, to help heal their stories in a very real way, and help to free many souls. There is no doubt this new book is his continued commitment to serve as a teacher and guide for those who are ready to do their own work in recovering and discovering.
As the founder and director of an award-winning private college dedicated to inspiring people to discover their gifts and graces, there have been hundreds of employees who have helped to serve thousands of students over the years. As an employer it is my job to learn to manage the thoroughbreds like Richard. I cannot hope to tame them; it is my job to help contain their brilliance until they are ready to go out in to the world again on their own in a loving and profitable way. I have long ago come to realize employees are a lot like children you are asked to raise; you pour many resources into their care and feeding, you spend many hours nurturing and holding their fears and concerns only to have them pack their bags one day to follow the call of destiny. It’s bittersweet.
Richard did just that when he left the security of Arizona and Southwest Institute of Healing Arts to start Seattle Life Coach Training. Richard took with him two awards he received: The Lighthouse Award given by the college acknowledging the leadership and light he provided to the staff and students, and the Best Teacher of the Year award from the Arizona Private School Association for his educational excellence in and out of the classroom.
It was interesting to note the logo Richard chose for his new venture in Seattle was a lighthouse. It was not until after the new logo was designed and implemented did he remember the award he won. Somewhere deep within him was a knowing of God’s greater plan. Whether this new book wins any earthly awards or not is not as important as the fact that Richard has done the work that would win an award from the employer that ultimately counts—God.
Truth be known, we all have a sacred employment contract with the Divine. Part of Richard’s definition of Spiritual Reliability is the act of showing up for a greater, higher purpose, willing to go forth even when you cannot see the entire path beneath your feet. By this definition, as well as the feeling deep in my heart, there is no question Richard Seaman has been hired by the Divine to be a powerful instrument of the light. No one will dim this man’s light!
Blessings,
KC Miller

Preface
You’re probably wondering what does being spiritually reliable mean anyway?
Spiritual Reliability means being loyal and obedient to the truth of spirit as it arrives in each moment.
As I began writing Spiritual Reliability, I was forced to look at my own reliability in regard to my life and this book. I started this project with an intention to write a book, which is different from the earlier book I wrote, It’s All in the Sharing. I didn’t become reliable to Sharing until it was in its final stages. With Sharing, I didn’t set out to write a book; it was a personal journal that birthed itself in a strange way and became a book. It happened suddenly, when I somehow realized it was a book and that I needed to publish it. This time is different because I set out to write a book, which means I have to be spiritually reliable and commit to its final outcome. I have to show up like it is a job that I have been hired to do. I realize that God is my employer, and like any successful employer, God needs good employees.
Many people seek counsel from me in my private coaching practice. A large number of people want to find their purpose in life. Usually, the first question out of my mouth is:
If God were an employer,
would he hire you?
If you find yourself struggling to answer this question, my invitation to you is to see this book you are reading now as a vessel for you to grow, evolve and Up-Level everything in your life!
Just like an employer who has hired you to do a job, God will send you out into the world to serve, but only if you are spiritually reliable and 100% committed to the job. He prefers to send out those who are consistent and live their lives with follow through, integrity and will show up with a positive and activated attitude. If you are floundering to answer this question there may be some up leveling that needs to be dealt with in your life.
Most people in this world wish to live a life that is purposeful, while also having the greatest intentions of helping the world and making it a better place. I once heard someone say that many spiritual people have taken on a belief that you are going to be broke if you are spiritual. This belief needs to be shattered. The reality is that we live in a western world, which means that we have bills, rent, food and finances to meet in order to survive. We’re not mystics in a monastery; we are mystics in the world. So as a result we must learn to monetize our skills, gifts and talents. You will be compensated financially to the same degree that you add value into the world.
If you believe, like millions of other people in the world, that you do not have a life purpose, you are cheating yourself. That belief in and of itself is denying your purpose from manifesting. You need to reframe these thoughts. I have five questions for you to ponder as you read this book that could increase your potential of doing so.
1) What is your gift to the world?
2) What is your message to share with the world?
3) What can you teach?
4) How can you inspire and shine a light into the world?
5) How can you bring a piece of truth to someone’s life?
Usually, what I have found is that wherever you have had to do the biggest piece of work in your life is where you will be the most powerful. I sometimes say, Your mess becomes your ministry; your messes become your message.
My teachings convey how to be spiritually reliable. Like all people, I struggle with being spiritually reliable at times, but I always go back to a teaching that has enlightened me.
We teach what we need to
learn the most.
Sometimes it is not easy to show up for God and be his instrument. Other times it can be very easy to show up because there is a groove we slide into. It somehow lifts us up, over and through the struggle, ultimately connecting to God to become spirits’ tool. This space of possibility is a mystery to me every day. Why can we sometimes find the groove
and why do we lose it at other times?
God is the ultimate all-knowing divine being, moving through you and all around you. You are always supported by God’s presence; therefore, you are never disconnected from God. Why do we waver in this reality if this is true? Why do we feel disconnected from God?
This book is about recognizing and learning how to become spiritually reliable, allowing you to be utilized for God’s greater, higher purpose. This book is going to give you practical spiritual tools and skills to apply in your everyday life, giving you a grounded, solid foundation from which to work. These tools will create your new normal if you apply them consistently for the next three to six months.
I have been a Life Coach and teacher for fifteen years. Thousands of people have shared their life stories with me and I have figured out why so many of us suffer in our lives. It is because we feel we are disconnected from others, and therefore, disconnected from God, which leads us to believe that God doesn’t love us. Most of us were never introduced to God as an all-loving presence who supports us. Most of us were born and raised into families that believe God is judgmental and punishes us when we are bad. Many of us disconnect from this fierce God who will send us to hell. We are all sinners according to religion.
It doesn’t surprise me that our world has become so unhealthy and dysfunctional when most of us have disconnected from the ultimate power. This power can keep us grounded and aligned to our greatness and goodness while keeping us in the light. Religion has failed the world and given humanity a vein of fear, which manipulates our sense of self-righteousness and teaches us judgment and separation. If there is sin, the Course of Miracles says, Sin could be defined as the perception we are separated from self and/or we are separated from our Creator.
[i]
The truth is we are always connected and always being supported by our Higher Power.
When Jesus walked the earth he didn’t teach fear, lack or separateness. He taught the nine fruits of the Spirit: Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness and Self-Control.
