Introduction

This book is a comprehensive training manual for Level Four of Usui Reiki Ryoho (pronounced Uw-Sou-E Ray-Key Ro-Ho). Usui Reiki Ryoho is the traditional form of Reiki based upon the original teachings of Master Mikao Usui (pronounced Me-Cow Uw-Sou-E). This variation of healing and its methodologies are the foundational teachings for the majority of the other types of Reiki.

The prerequisite for this instruction is the successful completion of the first three levels of Usui Reiki Ryoho. This previous training included first, second, and third level attunements; general background and information on traditional Reiki methodologies; and instructions on how to perform hands on Reiki sessions, self healings, distant healings, the charging of inanimate objects, the cleansing of physical spaces, scanning, the use of symbols, aura surgery, and chakra balancing. In this text, it is assumed that the previous attunements and knowledge requirements of the first three levels have been fulfilled.

Included with this text is the forth level attunement which includes the master Reiki healing energy. Intended as a refresher, some basic background information is provided. However, this material is primarily meant to ready the advanced student to attune others to Reiki.

Reiki should always be viewed as a set of techniques best used in conjunction with contemporary medical treatments and medications as set out by licensed medical doctors. Please be aware that Reiki practitioners cannot legally give medical advice or prescribe medications. Furthermore, Reiki is not to be used as a replacement for conventional health care. The role of the Reiki practitioner is to provide complementary care to clients to fulfill their whole health needs.

All trained Reiki practitioners are asked to consult their local authorities about specific licensing regulations and other legalities of practicing energy work in their area.

About Reiki

Reiki (pronounced Ray-Key) is a completely safe bio-energetic relaxation and stress relief technique. Reiki energies are suitable for use on anything alive. Healing energies can also be embedded into inanimate objects such as rocks, jewelry, heating pads, bandages, blankets, stuffed animals, etc. After charging, these items will give off healing or comforting energies for a time, after which they will have to be recharged. Reiki can also be used to amplify the natural healing properties of crystals and other like elements.
