31 Days To A Better You - Joshua Okpara

    DAY 1

    UNEARTHING THE FOUNDATION

Knowledge— I love that word. Knowledge is collected, memorized information. It is simply a tool but, without wisdom to apply that knowledge, it is ineffective.

Knowledge has the power to shape the way you think, how you process data and how you react to the things around you; that’s why it’s important what kind of knowledge you have. That power can work in a positive or negative way, it can make you a better or worse person; and, the shocking part is, knowledge affects who we are, whether we are aware of the changes or not.

Could it be possible that we are not where we want to be in life because of our lack of knowledge or lack of the RIGHT knowledge? What knowledge do you currently have that is affecting the way you think, process information or lead?

The one thing I love about knowledge is you can learn and unlearn it. You can attain the right knowledge, and unlearn the wrong one, which gives you the liberty of shaping a better you based on the knowledge you have.

In this course, for us to effectively lead and become a better version of ourselves, we first must unlearn the things we have been told.

    Common things we must unlearn:

    You can change another person.

    Someone else can change you.

    You can change overnight.

    You can change by yourself.

    Change will find you.

More experience equals a better you.

Having supporters/followers means you are getting better.

We must unlearn these things and many more because this collected, memorized information stands in the way of us becoming a better version of ourselves. If you are anything like me, you may have found out by now that you cannot change humans. If you have not yet, keep living. You cannot change anyone, and no one can change you. Change begins within oneself, and it starts with knowledge.

Now, what kind of knowledge do you need to have that will propel you into becoming the best version of you?

Understanding that for you to be a better version of you, you must unlearn the false truths you have built your life upon.

Having the willingness to be open to not just the idea of change but change itself.

Allowing yourself to go through these next 31 days of self-discovery with a heart and mind that seeks after knowledge.

Becoming comfortable with the fact that there is not a one-stop growth. There is always room for you to be better.

    Trusting the process of change.

For today, I want you to do a self-assessment. What are the top 10 things you may have learnt that are shaping how you think, respond to situations, and lead?

What things do you need to unlearn for you to advance into the next version of you?

What are the top 10 areas in your life that you seek improvement in, and how will having the right knowledge change that?

I want you to write out the answers to these questions in your workbook as we gain new knowledge and attain the wisdom to master it and apply it to our life.

We all have areas in our life that need improvement, whether it be physically, financially, spiritually, or mentally. There is an area that we need help in. We all have strengths and weaknesses, and the beauty of life is your strength could be my weakness, and my weakness, your strength; but we will never know until we seek to learn from each other.

For you to become the next version of you, you MUST be willing to learn.

Do you know that the solution to what you need is someone’s knowledge? For the circumstances you may be going through or need help in, there is someone out there who has attained enough experience to guide you through that stage, if you are open to learn.

BE COMFORTABLE KNOWING THAT THERE ARE THINGS YOU DO NOT KNOW, AND BE OPEN TO RECEIVING KNOWLEDGE, THEN WISDOM AND UNDERSTANDING WILL FOLLOW

How are you seeking to learn?

Today, I want you to activate your seek. Be comfortable knowing that there are things you do not know, and be opened to receiving knowledge, then wisdom and understanding will follow.

    DAY 2

    UNDERSTANDING THE BLUEPRINT

We know now that knowledge is collected, memorized information, and we also know that without wisdom, knowledge is just unused, unapplied information.

Wisdom. What is wisdom you may ask? Wisdom is having mastery of a subject of knowledge. The Hebrew word for wisdom means prudence, which is skill or cleverness. Wisdom is knowledge applied.

When we lack wisdom and do not utilize knowledge, we engage in self-destructive behavior that not only harm us, but those around us.

Wisdom is like knowledge in that both are attainable, but they do not go looking for you. You are the one that goes looking for it. If I sit down in my home and do nothing all day, I will not increase in wisdom and knowledge, neither will I attain understanding.

Wisdom must be pursued after, received, and then internalized. How do you pursue wisdom? A daily commitment to
