Peter Ajisafe

Peter Bolaji Ajisafe is a creative thinker and writer and the pioneer pastor of The Dominant Force Worshippers’ Assembly (a.k.a. Greater Grace Gospel Ministries - 3GM,) located in Ibadan. Peter Bolaji Ajisafe is also the coordinator of The Leading Light Inc. (a personal development cum capacity building establishment.) This is a dream come true for me! I remember investing the early years of my courtship into heartfelt discussions on my vision, ideas, and future yearnings with my fiancée, and as destiny would have it, she later became my wife in 2010 after having been engaged for four solid years. One striking highlight of my deep conversations with her was my desire to write and publish a potential bestseller someday in the foreseeable future. And after each of such discussions, I do still remember ending with this question: ‘Do you think or believe this is possible?’ She has always responded in the affirmative, ‘I believe in you!’

My desire for writing grew over time as days went by. One day, in the fall of 2010, I joined Triond, an online publishing site dedicated to the submission of articles for its online audience to read and make comments on. It was while I was on my author page that I stumbled on an advert for a self-publishing package from Xlibris UK. I clicked on it and submitted my enquiry. A few weeks after, I received a call from a publishing consultant from Xlibris UK to ascertain if I was really interested and serious about self-publishing a book. ‘Yes!’ I responded, though I was caught between two ends—what to write about and for whom. That was how the journey to the making of this book began in earnest.

Decide Forward! is a baby of my dream. Honestly speaking, my desire to see people move forward and succeed in life informed the choice of the title and the writing of this book.

More to be desired is the fact that Decide Forward! is an idea, and just like every good product, resident in this book is the seed of solution to crucial life questions that we are confronted with daily.

This is not another statistics!

Let me leapfrog by asking you a favour, and that is to see yourself in this project as you read on with a receptive heart. Believe in yourself! I am sure you will succeed in life if you can believe. I chose to write on success with you in mind because you deserve a better life. My joy would be to become a part of your success story—that you came, you saw, and you conquered. The whole idea is to give you a helping hand, for you to find courage to think with your head and your heart what you will do with your life.

No man was born an automatic success. Those who succeeded in life were those who used their minds to achieve something in life. If you want to succeed, you will have to engage your mind in a productive way.

Take a stand!

Decide to improve. The desire for improvement is the first key to human development (mental, emotional, and spiritual), and development is the key to success. In order to succeed in life, you have to develop; to develop, you have to improve; and to improve, you have to decide to add value to your life.

The value of every decision you make is in taking you forward. ‘It’s not hard to make decisions when you know what your values are’ (Roy Disney).

One of the greatest power open to you is the power to decide; you have the freedom to make your own decision and to live by or with it. You live by your decision subject to what you do with your life, and you live with your decision as a result of what you do with your life. Our decisions guide our actions, and our actions in turn shape our lives.

The whole idea of this book is to take you forward. I mean, the innate goal of this book, Decide Forward!, is to help you use your impeccable power (to decide) to move your life forward. When next you make a decision, let it be with a sole goal—to move forward.

Decision-Making Process Redefined

The decision-making process here is all about the things involved in deciding forward. To decide forward, you must know where you are (realization), where you want to be (imagination), and what to do exactly to go forward (involvement).

There are three stages involved in the decision-making process that will equal success.

Stage 1: Your Current State

This has to do with your position today and your situation right now. This is the point that calls for realization; you must come to terms with where you are, who you are, and what your experiences are. This, in effect, will give you a reason to want change. To get to the next level in life, change is inevitable.

Stage 2: Your Desired Station

This has to do with your desired destination and preferred location in life. This is the stage of imagination—where you want to be. Imagination is the power of the mind; it is what we make out of our desire, a bridge between what we want and what we can and are able to achieve.
