    Welcome to Paradise

I stepped out onto the porch of my cottage with a cup of coffee, sat down in the wicker chair, and lit a cigarette. The view in front of me was magnificent. The cottage sat a fifteen minute walk above the coastal highway, and I looked down over the canopy of trees and across the Caribbean Sea. The morning fog was drifting off the water. It was an easy enough routine. Corianda had some nice cafés, and on that morning, I ate a breakfast of eggs, pineapple, toast and coffee on a patio overlooking the sea. Then I headed into an internet café where I connected my laptop and got the work.

The sky got dark in the afternoon and the rain started pouring down, so I stayed inside, working on my software project. I ate instant noodles and
