The Great Loop is a continuous waterway a boat can circumnavigate in the eastern US. It’s over 20,000 miles of connected waterways that go up to Canada. The Great Loop starts anywhere on the loop and continues till you cross your wake at the starting point.

Aboard our Spindrift 22, , Mickey and I departed from Sandusky’s Cedar Point Marina, Lake Erie, in late August 2016. Our route took us along the Detroit River on Michigan’s east coast, to Lake St Clair, up the St Clair River to Lake Huron, Michigan’s west coast, Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky, Tennessee, Mississippi, Alabama, Florida’s ‘Forgotten Coast’ at Panhandle, across the Gulf and through Florida
