    STRESS AND ITS EFFECTS

ANY EVENT THAT ALTERS the steady-state or challenges the adaptive mechanism of the body is known as stress. Fear, anger, suspicion, jealousy, worries, anxiety, etc., are the forms of stress and they can affect almost any system in the body. Our heart, kidneys, stomach, brain .etc. are the direct victims of stress and if the symptoms exist over a period of time, it can result in permanent damage to the organs of the body.

Medical problems such as heart pain, high blood pressure, diabetes, asthma, arthritis, acidity, headache, back pain, skin diseases, and so on can be caused or aggravated due to stress. The majority of the patients suffering from psychosomatic diseases consult physicians or other specialists but psychiatrists are rarely approached for such psychosomatic diseases. Doctors think that this is a different disease but actually the root cause is the same stress factor. The patient continues to suffer from one or the other type of disease for a long time and he consults the doctor again and again or keeps on changing doctors. For curing stress, doctors need to identify the specific stress
